Default Victory XCT - Helibars / Electric Windshield

I'm considering a Victory XCT and I'm wondering if anyone has tried the Victory Helibars and has any information on them?

Also how possible would it be to add an electric windshield to the XCT? Disappointing that the Vision has it but the XCT does not. XCT has everything else that I want, perhaps except additional sidelights on the fairing.

I think most folks find the Heli-bars to be too costly for what they do. Much more cost effective to just get the right length bars and set the height.

I imagine with enough money you can have an electric windshield installed. Probably easier to just change the shield to something you like though. I've thought about getting the new tall shield for long distance touring and keeping the one I have for more everyday riding. It doesn't take long to change one out.

For the Helibars, just wondering if someone has them and thought they were easy to use, etc. They probably would be more useful on a sport bike than a cruiser, however I could see that you might want them more pulled back when cruising on a highway than on twisties/back roads.

For the electric windshield, what I am looking for is a setup where I don't have buffeting at highway speeds, but can lower the shield when in towns, etc. I don't want to have to look through the shield in the rain as that just seems like a nightmare.

Maybe I could just see if the MRA shield extender has one for Victory shields. Then just find the right size shield.

I rather not have to switch windshields, as I would rather not have to spend the time to do that for whatever kind of riding I am doing that day. Also considering trips, I would rather not have to bring multiple shields along.

I'll see when the local dealer gets the XCT in.

Maybe it makes sense to rent a bike, as I feel a test ride is only going to tell you so much.

If you're looking into a tourer, you need to know the long distance comfort. While many of you may just sigh and say, "that's what mods are for". I would rather find the bike that is the closest fit to have the best starting point before having to mod.

Currently for my next bike which I want to have for 15+ years, I believe that is looking more and more like the XCT every day.

I noticed there is a baggershield windshield for the XC, anyone know if it will fit the 2012 XCT as well?

No one tried the Helibars yet? Anyone know if they get the 2 inch risers then, are the clutch and brake cables long enough without needing to be replaced?

Thank you!

Can't use higher risers on the XC. No room for it.

The Baggershield will fit the XCT. The only difference between the XC and XCT is the touring package and wind management system the XCT has. All are add on products to the XC. You can turn any XC into an XCT for about $3000. Maybe $3100 for the 2010 XC. Approx. $1500 for the trunk and $1500 for the wind management system.

You can get pretty close to an XCT with an XR but without the in dash gauges.

No room for it due to the cables, or a physical limitation?
So, I'm guessing if I installed the Helibars then it would only be able to go back then? It lists it can go back 4 inches. Would it have an issue going past 2 inches?

I see the Klock Werks Flare is listed as an accessory on the polaris customizer now.

Can the Baggershield do what the Flare does (at the same height) as well as being adjustable?

From my understanding the flare is designed to look over however it still prevents buffeting?

All stock fork mounted fairings are going to have clearance issues. All you need to do is physically look at one to understand. Now an XR might be able to do what it is you want since it doesn't have the fairing.

Good question. To my knowledge no one has done a comparison yet. Maybe you can be the first.

Thank you BBob.

I am planning on test riding the XCT next weekend. I didn't take that close of a look. I also only saw a few pictures of the helibars.

Without seeing closer how they work and not having a XC or XCT in front of me, thank you for the information.

I'll have to contact the helibar site after taking a look at it next weekend, as I am looking for the batwing fairing style of the XCT

I'm strongly considering the XCT, but from the sounds of it you are saying you can get a XC converted into an XCT for about the same price? What differences are left?

I kind of like the look of the forged engine guard bars on the XC from the test ride I did. However I think having the full lowers of the XCT would better suit what I am looking for.

Sorry for all the questions. It looks like there is everything available that I am looking for.

I'm just trying to inquiry if anyone has tested it since I'm concerned the 2 inch pullback might not be quite what I am looking for since if I purchase an XCT I am looking to keep it for 15+ years and tour across the country on it.

Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you for your time BBob.

Windshields depend on your size body type you could do a search see what others have done but trying is best well for me my buddy bought the flip loves it we just did 1600+ trip no problems I have the tall from vic got it thinking for my wife comfort the shield is clear no distortions got caught in the rain I would say that it is a pia but I have been here before no biggie my buddy and I switched bikes I foud the flip the air hit me right in the face when you went over 55 I like the look better and if you got a different seat changes everything does xct have the touring heated seat I think that sits 1" higher they got lower touring seat that sits 1-2" lower and moves you forward maybe enough no need to change bars try sitting on the Ness model I believe they have seat something like that not heated the lowers I still can't make my mind up I like the forged looks and I have lowers that does a fair enough job for the wind I am thinking of adding dagon wings like on the harleys they are adjustable just make my on maybe buy the mounts now my wife rode on back over 500 miles on day one of our trip but I also got her propad and she had no problem she never rode that far in one day before and the xc was great and on the dagon you will love it

4 wheels move the body but 2 wheels move the soul

bobberx,

Yeah, with that in mind, that's why I don't want a see thru. I want to be able to ride in the rain.

I figure the baggershield will meet the need for what I am looking for. If I am riding on a slow windy stretch I can quickly adjust the shield down. Then if I have to hit the highway I can raise it up. Lower it for rain, etc.

Wow. Even though it wasn't listed, my local dealer is having demo week next week. I should wait to next year and just hope they have the demo week next year so I can get the red tag on a 2012 XCT.

Just going to have to see the bar situation next week.

In regards to the seat. I want a cushy seat. Often times if you get the lower seat or a seat that pushes you forward it loses comfort. Not willing to sacrifice that. I don't want something that crames me in one spot as well. I need room to move.
