Default Plug on top triple tree???

Who knows what the hole on tank side of top triple tree that has a white rubber plug is for? Plug don't even show up on parts drawings.
Thought maybe it was for IPOD harness, but directions for that say to drill a 16MM hole in fairing. I ain't drill any holes.

I think it may be for the optional fork lock kit. I think you have to buy it with a new ignition switch and anything else that has a key so everything is keyed the same... or so I've heard.. :-)

I'll find out today if the 2012 XC Tour has it or an actual keylock.

I thought it was a sticker too!! I plan on masking it as best I can and just spraying it with flat black. I'll post pics.

I picked up my Ipod cable today. It has a grommet on it. I said to myself, Self, That looks like it's the same size as that plug !! Maybe that's where you can run the Ipod cable. WRONG !! The grommet is too small on the cable. It still might be an option to run the cable there, I'll find out over the weekend.

Do your self a favor and read the posts about the gas tank nipple before you install the iPod.

I heard about that and even asked my Dealer about it. They said if you're careful it shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think I'm gonna put the Ipod in the saddlebag anyway, I'm thinking about putting it in the dash area possibly with Velcro. I just have to figure out where to run the cable.

If you aren't going to use extension and just use the IPOD cable, it has a grommet on the cable. If I remember right the directions tell you to drill a 16MM hole in the inner fairing. I decided I was not drilling any holes.

Maybe I need a different thread for this, I wonder if the Bluetooth dongle for the 2012 models works on the 2011. My Ipod itouch has BT and then I won't need any connection. I usually leave it plugged-in in rt bag and BT it to the Scala G4.
