There's nothing to drill out. You can see straight through the mufflers except for the little bend the inlet pipe has but it's a WIDE open pass through. There is a diverter plate built into the crossover pipe that diverts a lot of the exhaust to the left muffler. It really chokes the right muffler but you can bend it out of the way somewhat so that it's more even but you have to take the crossover pipe off the bike to get at it from the front. I have stage1 on mine and I've got about 7500 miles on it now and it has just recently gotten noticably louder but not obnoxious which I've heard other's say it would. I think my S1 is perfect right now because it's got good sound that doesn't mimick a lawn mower but yet I can still enjoy my stereo without being droned by loud exhaust.

D&D slip-ons. Sweet sound of american thunder. Love mine, and am amazed how good they sound. I prefer quieter pipes, but after a year of sewing machine noise (stock exhaust), I decided it was time to upgrade to a set of D&D Boss Slip-Ons. The D&D's are as loud as I would go. They have a much deeper tone and are soothing to my soul. You could resell the Stage 1's and upgrade for a few hundred bux.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
