Default Removing valve covers.

I have a 2010 XC and have chrome valve covers. I'd like to remove them and have them powdercoated. Is there anyway to remove them without removing the entire engine? I've been told the front one can't be removed without removing the entire engine. Any ideas? Thanks!

Somewhere on the forum is a step by step on changing cams on a cross country. They explain how to get the valve covers off and swap cams without pulling the engine.
