When i bought my honda shadow about 5 years ago it had a car tire on it. I did not like the way the bike cornered. I replaced it with a motorcycle tire within the first week and liked it much better. From that experience i won't run a car tire on my xct. The stock dunlops seem to be doing pretty good so far. Some people like to run car tires on bikes, to each his own but i believe motorcycle tires are designed for motorcycles and car tires are for cars. If there is any way you could ride a bike with a car tire on it before you decide to go that route i would so you could see for yourself how you like it.

Got over 10k on my Dunlop run flat ct. It's got pros and cons. What's your goal in swapping and then we. Could better address it instead of who likes TCs and who doesn't.

I ride 50-60 miles round trip every day year round minus ice which is pretty seldom. It is almost all interstate, no major twisties etc. the CT does a great job forme but when up in the tight twisties with half crazy I work my ass off on it compared to the ease of handling I had with a mc tire. Why keep it? On IBA rides I prefer the safety of run flat, the handling and additional smooth ride over the. Mc tire. Running a CT over a MC tire is just like modding your engine you can't throw it on and expect to be happy, what do you need your bike to do and mod it for such. A super charger on a tour bike would be great but worth the money running 1000-1500 once a month? Maybe not.

I would really like a second wheel with a MC tire then I could slap on the MCT when I head up to the twisties.

My 2 cents

A car tire may help with pulling a trailer, never tried that with a bike, i use the truck for towing. You could put a car tire on it to see how you like it. You can always go back to a motorcycle tire very easily.
