Default rider on the storm

Hy on the French forum it is a great question ,you now is really the first time the biker ride under the rain here ,we don't have it before ,and it seams that the X Country are very sleepy under the rain ,what can you tell me about , is it the tire or the frame in cause ?

If the tires are brand new or have too much air they will be slippery. All bike tires will slip a bit when it first starts to rain until all the oils are washed off the road. I have ridden many miles in the rain with my XC and found the tires to handle fine. Hope this helps.

I rode about 200 miles in the rain on the highway at 70mph a few weeks ago. No problems at all - the E3s are a good tire in the wet.

Unhappy Caught in the rain...

Friday afternoon I got caught in a terrible storm for about 25 miles...crosswinds at 40 knots plus...visibility dropped to a few hundred meters...the bike tracked and handled fine (even with the crosswinds shoving me around).

The only slipping I experienced was coming off the highway onto side streets where the back end danced around on me during accelleration. I took it slow and easy for the rest of the wet ride home noting the bike slipping at times in turns. The slipping wasn't in every turn...more the turns that the traffic hadn't been heavy on. I attribute the slipage to oil on the roads since it's the first strong rain we've received in this part of Texas since June!

Hope this helps...

I traded my 2011 XC in for a 2012 XCT. The extras are a bonus. It handles exactly the same. My only (mild) complaint is that the air management system works too good. Above 80° your feet get too warm. TIP: Don't open the lower vents all the way. It is cooler with them opened an inch or two.

I have only 3 years of study but a few years ago our company was bought by a French-owned company so have learned to adapt (somewhat). I have a more difficult time listening & speaking it than I do in reading/writing it though.
