Question Passenger Foot Peg Removal

Just received my passenger Kuryakyn mini boards. I was under the impression that the footpegs are easy to remove - most likely held in place with a pin and split pin! Wrong, no split pin in sight!

Before I take to a hammer and do some real damage, does anyone know if there is an "easy" way of removing the pins that attaches the pegs to the rear peg mounts?

Dubai, United Arab Emirates!

a hammer is definitely the hard way, use a pneumatic hammer...much easier.
