Default Amp Question

Been very pleased with my RF PB300x4 amp...however since I have the cowling off right now....thought I would go ahead and bump the GAIN up a little bit. I was at 4-5, now I'm at about 6-7.

But I have TWO (2) questions before I button it all back up...

1.) Does the AMP get hotter with the gain settings increased? And if it does, I know it has Auto-Circuit shut off...will it shut off and then come back on when it cools off? I'm worried about these 100+ degree summers here in Arkansas.

2. If the AMP is grounded to the negative terminal of the battery, is it still possible to get ENGINE NOISE and if so, how do you get rid of it.

Thanks,

Wally

well you could turn out stereo and heat up amp with hair dryer to see what it will handle.

I wouldn't think the sound would change by going to battery

The background noise can still be there even from the battery, though it wiil be reduced. Get an RF filter to put in your power supply legs to cure it.
