Good doggone thread!
1. How's the weight distribution and firmness on the HMD compared to stock?
Meaning does it have a good even fit thigh to butt etc (good) as opposed to centralizing the pressure point to tailbone area etc (bad).
Is it evenly firm thoughout, which is proper for keeping pressure off tailbone area, etc.
2. So after sending them your seat, the swap is $599, correct?
If so... Wow! Mean City Cycles could do a custom mod I bet to your defined specs and wishes for a bunch less than that if I had to guess. What's the extra value in the HMD seat? I'm certainly open-minded, if there's more to it with the HMD mod vs a Mean City reshape and memory foam mod. If I had to guess, appears the covering is custom, to fit with the modded shape.
And just a statement on the stock seat with my short time on my Hard-Ball. While it's a far cry from the High-Ball seat I had, it still strikes me as plagued with OEM-seat syndrome. It's too soft and you sink to the pan with poor distribution. They sit great in the showroom, but not after 4 hours in-saddle.
Though I can still do twice the time on my stock seat than possibly even the awesome but hard corbin I had on the High-Ball, and 8 times the time than the stock High-Ball crap seat. So all things in perspective.
