Default Odometer and Clock

Picked up my new 2014 Havasu Red XC yesterday. I couldn't be any happier. Trying to work through the learning curve of the new bike. I can't seem to access the odometer or the clock. I read and re-read the book that says you do so by the mode button. A short press on the mode button allows me to cycle through AM, FM etc. Holding it down brings up radio controls like bass, tremble, fade, etc. I'm sure that I'm missing something very basic here. Any assistance is appreciated and yes I'll put pictures up when I have a moment.

Thanks, JJKJR

The manual kind of confuses the issue.
There is another button.

Check around the backside of the left side control 180 degrees from the turn signal switch. There is a mode button there.

The mode button you are using is the radio mode button. The real 'mode' button is right above the clutch lever, on the back side. It's designed to be pressed with your index finger so you don't have to take your hand off the bar.

This is on a highball, but it's the same on ours too.

Well, I knew that I was missing something very simple and you folks would have the answer. I'll check it out the "other" mode button tonight and report back tomorrow.

Thanks Much!!

One interesting "feature" of that real mode button -- the one in front, for your index finger, where some bikes these days have a "flash to pass" button -- is that if you raise up (rotate) the clutch lever a bit, every time you shift you can get the main display to change.

That is, you can reposition the clutch lever such that when you pull it all the way back, it will serve two functions: 1) it will disengage the tranny, as it's supposed to, and; 2) it will bump the mode switch. This has been discussed in several threads, and I didn't want you to be further confused by that switch if you should happen to tailor the clutch lever's position to your liking some day.

Cheers,

Bill P.

You all were right. I saw the other mode button and assumed it was a "flash to pass." Here are some pictures of my new bike. Hope they posted correctly. I'm sure other questions will pop up but for now, I'm enjoying my new XC. Thanks again, JJKJR.
