Default Backrest Luggage Rack

Perhaps I am blind or I am just not looking in the right place. I have the lock & ride backrest for my 13 CC and I am wanting to get the luggage rack that attaches to it. For some reason I cannot find it on victory's website nor anywhere else. Does anyone know where I can source one of these? Thanks

I'm told by MoM's South in Foxborough Ma that they are still on backorder. Perhaps as a result of the recent backrest recall? Shark Cycle in CT apparently has one and has (had?) it listed on ebay but I haven't called them to confirm. I've been looking for one myself. Most of the aftermarket racks are way too "ooh look at me i'm a hardcore bike badass" for my tastes. I don't need skulls and maltese crosses to declare my riding prowess, just a luggage rack to strap my tent to.

The racks for the old backrests (which you probably have) are no longer available through Victory because of the recall. The new racks which fit the backrests with 3 holes on each side are backordered because they are trying to work replacements before they sell to the public.

Note that the racks are not cross compatible with the old backrests and the new backrests. In other words a rack with 3 holes will not fit a backrest with 2 holes and a rack with 2 holes will not fit a backrest with 3 holes.

Also since it sounds like you have the old backrest and have never had a rack installed you are not affected by the recall so you wont be able to get a new backrest. This leaves you with a few options - buy an old style rack, buy a new backrest and a new rack, or convince Victory that you had a rack installed in the past. The best bet would be to buy an old style rack but if you aren't comfortable with the possibility of your backrest cracking (highly unlikely) the are things you could do to prove that you had a rack installed in the past which would qualify you for the recall.

The last time I checked, which hasn't been recently they want about $500 for it. Wasn't worth it to me. You might want to check J&P Cycles as I have seen on their website they have the backrest and luggage rack, 3 hole combination for about $400. That is my biggest complaint about Victory, lack of assories and ridicules prices for what they do have. Glad to see a few things starting to be made by others for Victory's.

If you have a new style rack (3 holes in each side) you'll probably have to wait for supply to catch up with demand. They are replacing the old style OEM racks (2 holes in each side) with the new racks first so until all the racks that are covered with the recall the new racks are going to be tough to get.

Also I asked Jon (Witchdoctor) a couple weeks ago if he had the hole spacing on new backrests yet so I could see if my Witchdoctor rack would fit the new backrest. At that time he hadn't seen a new backrest yet so he couldn't validate fitment. That pretty much means that until he gets the spacing he won't be able to build racks to fit the new backrests.

I had the 2 hole back rest and got tired of waiting for Ma Vic to sort this out. So I went with the Witchdoctor 2 hole rack and couldn't be happier. It is cheaper than Ma Vic's rack and, IMO, better quality. I just won't overload it, which is the reason for the recall.

If you have a 3 hole/newer style backrast, you will have to wait for production to catch up (whether Ma Vic or after market).
