Default Cobra FI2000 help

just purchased a used Cobra FI2000 from a member on this forum and looking forward to installing it. I have read alot on this forum, good and bad regarding this tuner so Im very anxious on how it will perform. My question is
Does anyone know where there may be an install video which relates to the CCT and is there anyway to tell if the internal adjustable "pots" have been adjusted. Being that this is a used unit, I want to make sure Im starting from factory settings. Also, if anyone has some tips or advice, Im open to all suggestions!

I would send an email off to Cobra. They ought to give you the factory settings. If not it is bad press for them when you comment on the forum that they would not help you with settings. A simple set of numbers out to be easy for them to email you back.

At makes sense, although I have heard and read that Cobra will only answer questions and provide information once a sales receipt has been provided. Whether or not this is true, I'm not really sure. But since I bought this used I do not have a sales receipt, but it's definitely worth a try

Follow the instructions, except do not connect the stock OČ sensors - leave them disconnected. Don't change the controller's dial (inside the controller) unless you have to adjust it later, after you ride it for at least 50 miles. If you have any trouble or specific questions, just ask.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

I've been waiting to a do a write up on the Cobra Fi2000 until I had it all worked out and the high flow air filter installed.
I feel like the Cobra is a decent turner and does increase performance but its not quite fully "developed" for the Victory application. Cobra's CS and that asshat Andre' in tech support aren't worth a crap, so save yourself the trouble.
First things first, open the unit(start where the wires come out) with a small flat screwdriver, look for the "pot" the factory puts a dot on it at the "7oc" position, if the dial line is pointed at the dot then it is still at the factory setting.
Installation is pretty straight forward, getting at the injectors is tight and getting at the front O2 sensor is a total pain. Do yourself a favor and loosen the three bolts on left side of the chin fairing, it'll give you a lot more room to work and get at the O2 sensor clip. Zip tie the clip up in an easier access position, you may need to get at it again.

I'll make this as short as possible. Installed my Cobra Fi2000 per instructions on a stock bike. I got minor performance changes. But more concerning was that after ~300mi I started getting "lean condition" engine error codes and random engine stalls(not cool while riding...). After some research I learned about the internal pot. I set it to "9oc" but had the same problems. I ended up disconnecting the Cobra from the O2 sensors and reconnecting the OEM lines. After doing this the bike came to life. I felt more responsiveness and now that I've opened up my exhaust its taken another step up.
I learned running with the Cobra Fi2000 connected to the injectors(and ground) and its O2 sensors disconnected, while having the OEM O2 sensors plugged in will allow the Cobra Fi2000 to control fueling in throttle on conditions and the bike's ECM will handle steady state and throttle off fuel management. I can say its performing very well in this configuration, I get no error codes, stalling, backfires or decel popping.
I have tried to reconnect the Cobra's O2 sensors but this causes the engine to have an occasional random engine stall between shifts which is friggin' scary and dangerous when it happens with no noticeable performance gain. So I'm using it in the configuration that works and am happy with the results.
I'm still trying to find someone that is actually interested in dealing with what's going with these tuners but so far dealing with Cobra is netting zero results...

Hey markaas...just noticed you're in CT. I probably could help you out in person. Or if you need to put eyeballs on my setup, make time to show you.

Hey thanks so much for that usefull info. Andi just may take you up on your offer. What part of CT are you from, im in danielson. As far as disconnecting o2 sensors, do you mean plug them into the tuner only and then leave disconnected? Not sure i fully understand what you mean, im new to this tuner stuff!!

Only one "pot", its hard to miss and hard to mistake for anything else.
What I and CrossRoads mean about the O2 sensors is; do not connect the lines that come off the Cobra for the O2 sensors to the bike's lines. Just leave them free. Leave the factory O2 sensors connected.
I'm in Bristol, CT.
