Default S&s intake and map.

I'be tried the search and think I found the answer but want to be sure. I have stage 1 now. If I put the s&s intake on and don't have the map loaded will I hose up my bike? Looks like no but want to make sure. Local dealer says they can do it when speaking on the but I am not convinced. I am gonna stop by and talk face to face. If they cannot can I run the bike without map until I get to a dealer that can?

Thanks

I had stage one in my 07 Vegas, then bought the S&S without map, bought a Power commander and installed a map from a posted map share from this site..Runs great. I just did not want to mess with the dealer..For what the S&S map cost and the dealer to do the flash work, I figured I could pay for the power commander..

To answer your question, the bike will run way lean without the flash update. The flash should be done at time of install or soon after..IMO..

I highly reccomend not getting the s&s map.. I had it on my jackpot and had issues with it pinging. I went back to stock map and it's gone. I would recommend going back to a stock ECM map and buying a fuel controller. I bought a Dobeck ejk and it works great easy to install and change settings on. The power commanders are great but alittle harder to use from what I have been told unless u get the auto tune.
I did email s&s about toss his issue but haven't heard anything back. Hope this helps you decide what to do. Good luck. Ride safe

i think that running the same map as the stage 1 would not be efficient. when i put the loydz intake on mine it really opened up on the top side of the rpm's. i would think when you get above like 3000 you would be very lean.
i went with the pcv and a map they had for (s&s, bassani 2 into 1)
it ran fine but later got it dyno tuned. the hp is still rising when it red lines.

Where did you buy the EJK ? And, was it set for your bike when you bought it ? If so, did you have to change any settings on it ?

I bought mine from local dealer but you can purchase them direct.
They offer a 10% forum discount you just hVe to call to get it. Cost 225. Shipped. They come with presets for stage 1 which I hVe found to be workin pretty good I have played around with it some pretty simple to use

I'm in your same situation right now. My 07 Vegas has Stage One exhaust and I'm going to be installing an S&S intake within a months time. I've also bought a PC III which just arrived today. My plan is to get the bike re-flashed back to stock and then upload a map for the Stage One plus S&S. What I'm wondering now is where do I find the map to suit my configuration? Where/what is the 'posted map share' on this site?
