Question Offer to purchase CCT, Good/Bad?

I was quoted $25,865 for a 2012 Red CCT with $3,000.00 worth of accessories, installation Labor included, with a 6 year extended warranty.

Great/Good/Fair/Ok Deal?

Input welcome.

I do intend to ask for a free 500 mile service and a free manual.

Sounds good to me but then I have a life-long history of getting screwed on car and motorcycle deals regardless of whether I'm buying or selling.

My friend bought a red CCT for around 22K w/ 3 yr warranty, no other extras. I guess it depends on the extras your getting, sometimes its cheaper to get the accessories somewhere else.

I was quoted $20k for a stock 2012 XCT w/ the standard warranty. That seems a good place to start.

Where are you located?

Can you turn a wrench?

Do you have a place to work on your bike and do you plan on working on it yourself at all or just let the shop do everything?

If you aren't financing; there are near new XCT's for sale and you could save up to $7k compared to the price you were quoted.

Is money an object for you? Are you willing to learn how to work on your bike at all?

I read earlier about someone paying $600 for the 15k mile check up without getting the fork oil changed and the neck bearings adjusted. Talk about getting reamed! Anyone with the ability to read and understand a service manual could easily have done everything that shop did and more. Plus; who's to say they actually did what they said they did? If you do it yourself; you know for sure it got done.

Sorry for the rant. It just bugs me to no end to see good people get screwed over. An oil change on a Vic is just slightly more complicated than changing a diaper on a baby except without the odor.

There's a 2012 Red XCT with clear title for sale on the xxx.net for $18.5k with 5k miles on it. The same one someone else posted a video about recently here where the owner bitches up a storm for very minor stuff. That's a $7k savings right there.

I live in Arnold, MO.

Yes, I'm a Mechanic/Electrical Technician for substations; we build, maintain and do any repairs necessary to keep that electricity flowing. I enjoy wrenching and, as you mentioned, you know it was done and performed correctly.

I prefer to purchase a new one to be honest.

I wish I had a garage but can work on it in the back yard under the , 15' x 25' overhang. Also have a shed I could possible store it in for the winter but that might be a tight squeeze.

I could pay cash, I'm also considering waiting for the 2013 since it's so close to July.

I feel that the offer is not really that good at all but it is a first offer and they may negotiate. I'm not sure how much a extended six year warranty costs.

Bike = $21,999.00
Acc. $3,000.00
Six year warranty: $1,200.00???
Labor for most of the items wouldn't be that much, maybe $500.00
Victory Discount : $500.00

Total: $26,199.00
Offer: $25,685.00
Approximately $514.00 less than MSRP or 1.96% discount, HHMMmmmm?

Yes, that's a better deal than they're offering me.

WAY TOO much.
5 year warranties cost the dealer around $300 & many were willing to "pass it through to secure the sale.
Others are getting the XCT's stock for $19,999
Most are getting anywhere from 20% to 30% off ANY accessories purchased at the same time as the original sale or within 30 days so that $3K retail drops to a $2,100 "value"

So, If you are willing to travel, you can buy the same thing for as little as $22,899 (if you include the $500 premium for a color other than black).

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, way to high.

Have a dealer in mind that would come close to this price?

I'm still waiting on two more quotes.
