Might depend on the dealers. Some dealerships have a service department that is worth paying extra for. In the past I bought three bikes from a dealer without even asking any other dealers for a price. "My" dealer took good care of me and I tried to support them. When switching to Victory I had a dealer 80 miles away and one 115 miles. I knew nothing about either dealership. Visited both, both seemed like nice places to do business. Nether seemed too interested in my four year old Yamaha with 93,000 miles. So, I asked for a cash price. They differed by just over $2,0000. I went with the distant dealer and the savings. If you have a good dealer close to home a few hundred dollars would be well spent supporting them. I know guys that drive to save and then expect the local dealer to take care of them. I won't do that. I rode a little extra for the purchase, I now ride those extra miles for the service.

Just because dealership A is selling bikes for less than dealership B doesn't mean you're getting a better deal. Go with the dealer you can trust and that wont forget who you are as soon as the papers are signed.

So where do you live? What are you looking to buy?
If your bike brakes down how easy can you get it to the shop far away? I have a harley shop 2 1/2 miles from me and the vic shop is 2 3/4 away heck there next store to each other and the harley shop is way more friendly and for after market parts I get a great deal.
You really should of told us more

Dealer A: 15 minutes away.

Dealer B: 3 hours away.

Dealer A: Has been "trying" to get the bike for me for 5 1/2 weeks but just finally got the VIN.

Dealer B: Has the red in stock, could have picked it up today and registered it Monday.

Dealer A: Small local guy.

Dealer B: Largest Victory dealer in the world.

I was leaning towards A because of thats where I plan on going for service. B offered the better price.

I was able to get A to get closer to the price of B. Only after getting fed up and getting B to offer me a hard to turn down deal.

Went with A.

I like to support the dealer who will support me down the road. The one I am most likely to take the bike into when I have problems. I have 2 dealers within 50 miles. One is a new dealer (added Victory to their already existing lines), and while they aren't as experienced with the Victory brand as the other one is, their service department is open Saturdays which is more customer service oriented than the other huge "custom" Victory dealer that is second closest to me. That one's service department is only open Monday - Friday, 8-5, which means I have to take time off work to take my bike in.

So where do you live?

Keep in mind the feature if some thing goes wrong witch dealer could fix it the fast this.
Buy the bike you love the most for color an look.

And dealer can walk over to the bike and pull the vin numbers off as your standing there all bikes have the numbers stamped in them.

Could have had it 5 1/2 weeks ago if I just went to dealer B then. Or if I got the instock white from dealer A.

I tried to support the local dealer and I think next time I will just go get the bike next time whereever it is in stock (in the color I want).

What I find ridiculous is apparently Victory is done with the reds (blue and green and black for 2013 XCTs), then realize they still have some 2012 reds that dealers want. So they load them all up on 1 truck and send that 1 truck across the whole country dropping off one at a time?????

The dealer was expecting it in this last week the latest. Now they are telling me before or after 4th of July. DUH yeah obviously you are closed on the 4th, so that means nothing, sigh.

Obviously the dealer wasn't happy that I wanted $500 off last minute. However dealer B has the red in stock, and I could have already had it home today and could have had added the decals I plan to put on it and paint protection film. Then after going to DMV (the other dealer is out of state) tomorrow afternoon to register could have been riding after work.

Heck the plan was to buy once I got the demo day $1000 accessory coupon, weeks in advance of buying it. I told dealer As salesman that, "hey if I put a deposit down now, can you get the red in stock..." No response. They seemingly have good service and now I get $10 off of labor per hour so maybe over the course of the bike it will work out.

Albany NY btw. So I have a dealer 15 min away. Next closest is an hour and 20 min away(don't think they have Victorys on the floor but sell them).

I wanted the red and at the best price I could get it. Seems like pretty much what I got whenever that is that it gets off the truck.
