Default Victory CB supply?

It has been about 2 months since I bought my new CCT and the
CB that I bought and paid for is still on back order from Victory.
Have an email in to hdqtrs asking what is going on. Thought I might see if anyone here has heard anything on the CB supply, or lack thereof? Any thoughts? Jim

after thirty days I would call my credit card company and have it taken off. Back order or not, they are not to charge your card if it is not in stock. Then you will get screwed after 90 days to fight your claim on your credit card. So you better call and have it cancelled.

backorder

Definition
A customer order that cannot be filled when presented, and for which the customer is prepared to wait for some time. The percentage of items backordered and the number of backorder days are important measures of the quality of a company's customer service and the effectiveness of its inventory management.

So as you can see, Victory should have notified you to let you know when the item that you purchased would be in. A good company would not advertise something they do not have in stock..

Don't know about the CB supply, but I want to pass on some info...

Apparently, the Victory CB kit leaves out an essential washer from the antenna mount - it's needed to electrically isolate the antenna from the bike. This has come up a few times on another forum...

Apparently, the antenna supplied is a "no ground-plane" type; if the shield braid of the coax is not isolated from the antenna mount (& the rest of the bike) the SWR of the antenna goes sky-high and the CB cuts back on output power in order to protect the output transistors.

You'll want to have a plastic washer or two on hand to insulate the antenna from the mount when you install it.

If you get an antenna designed to work with a ground plane, however, the reverse is true - it will require a good electrical connection to ground to properly work.

Tks, Colorado. Wanted to stay with a Vic unit that was made for the bike. Otherwise, would opt to make a Goldwing unit work as I know it to be good quality. Tried an email to Victory and they came back with four questions for me that do not pertain in any way to my question. Will be calling them directly this time. I just want to know why the hold up? I'll take a straight answer and live with it. I will NOT take their corporate stock email crap. Stay tuned. Jim

You know Victory had a birthday of 14 years, but the Company Polaris has been around since 1954. It is not like they do not know what they are doing. I am starting to have flashbacks of this company I use to work for that got to big for its breech s. When they start to get to big customer services goes out the window..

As suggested on other forums don't give up until you've tried everything. Victory accessories are easier to find and quicker to get from dealerships than from online orders from pure polaris. Call around to a bunch of dealerships an you'll eventually find one that has a CB in stock.

Another option is Amazon or EBay. Here's a link to an Ebay search of "Victory CB" that should take you to a listing for an OEM CB for $450. If you do another search for the same criteria you'll find several other hits that may interest you if you opt to go non-OEM.
