Ultimate seat, first review
Received my Ultimate seat last week and finally had a chance to ride yesterday. This is on a 2012 CCT. First impression was that it looked nice and the fit was great. My wife rode with me so will tell her perspective also. We made about a 150 mile trip (about 60, then about 80).
Observations: seat is cooler and wider than stock. It has a deeper pocket, but I didn't notice it sitting me back any further. It is much better than stock, and then it leaves a little. As I rode I didn't really get numb as i was on the stocker, but it progressivly got softer until it started hurting my tailbone. Then it kept getting softer until it felt like I was sitting on either side of it and a hump in the middle....that the boys didn't like.
Wife said I was farther back, she did say that it did not seem to keep her from sliding forward as she had hoped. On the stock seat she was constantly sliding forward. She did say it was not as bad, but I did keep feeling her push back. Sha said she was not as numb as stock seat and was ok with it.
Bottom line, I guess I will keep it as it is much better than the stock one. We both hated it. I think it would be a much better seat if it had some firmness to it. I am 265lbs and it is too soft. I don't want a brick like Corbin, but something more firm so that it doesn't sink on the sides and develop a ridge in the center. I guess I will take it someplace and see if they can firm it up as I don't think Ultimate firms them beynd what they produce. If you are not realy heavy, I think it would be a GREAT seat. Oh well, it's an improvement I guess at the very least.
