Default Botched Laps and Bad Ass Babes

I'd have called them pretty, but have been informed that that English
word is expressly prohibited for use by tough biker doods. Ain't biker
freedom great!

So on to the show.

Yesterday was qualifying for today's Moto GP race, so the Gym Rat, the Goose, and I made our Mecca over to the Indy Speedway. It was a beautiful day, mid 70s (speeds and temperature that is).

The Gym Rat rides a Street Glide:

The Goose a Goldwing:

We arrived about 10 am and found a pretty good crowd. We parked in the middle and there a line of bikes this long to our otherside as well as many other parking places in and around the track.

It was a lot better turn out then the last time we went.

Once there, the Gym Rat immediately eyed the Yeager tent and insisted we go and meet the hostesses there. Gym Rat begins negotiations to win some freebie Yeager swag.

At first she wanted us to recite some impromtu Yeager poetry, but Gym Rat decided it would be easier to beat me to 30 push ups. So the contest was on.

After beating him like the spine of hard tail rider, I told her that all I wanted was a picture with her sweet little self. Never doubt the strength of an old, fat guy motivated by such a finely molded sack of fresh estrogen:

She felt sorry for him and ended up giving him a tee shirt...

After visiting several more tents for proper hostess introductions, we finally took a seat in the stands and took an ear pounding watching the guys qualify and man what a disaster that turned out to be. A couple corners before this one, there was apparently a lot of ripples in the pavement and three of the top riders highsided their bikes there.

Australian Casey Stoner suffered a torn ankle ligament, American Ben Spies laid motionless for a while, but eventually walked off under his own power, and worst of all American Nicky Haden left in an ambulance with what appeared to be a pretty severe arm injury. Italian Valentino Rossi almost lost it there too.

Next, the Harley XR series had their race.

This too turned out to be a fiasco. They didn't seem to have as much trouble over the bumpy corner (bikes aren't nearly as fast), but when one bike lost it in a different corner it became an absolute nightmare to watch as rider after rider came around the corner unable to avoid an ever increasing mess that must haven taken out about 6 riders before the flaggers could slow the rest of the pack. They ended up bagging the remainder of the race.

(Continued)

As we were leaving, we stopped by the Kymco tent so the Gym Rat could get a final photo with one of the more robustly built blondes.

I recognized that a guy there hitting on her was Adam Waheed, a scribe at Motorcycle USA. He immediately dropped their conversation and we jaw boned motorcycles for about 15 minutes. I didn't mean to cockblock and I don't think he minded at all. I think it may have pissed her off a little though.

Anyway, my friends eventually came over and joined the conversation and Gym Rat asked him what he thought of Victories. He said "I think their junk, I'd take a Harley any day." Then Goose asked him about his opinion of Goldwings and he said he loved wings. My buddies got a big laugh at that at my expense. I'm not the kind of person who takes such things seriously or personally, though it does bother me a little that someone paid to do reviews of our products would make such an ugly statement without any details to substantiate it. I ended up telling racer boy that he was welcome to pick any Harley of his choosing and I'd gladly show him the fast way down a twisty backroad on my junk. I don't mean for anyone to take this wrong, it was all in good fun and I found him to be a really nice guy.

So in the end, it was a pretty crappy day for the racers, but the three of us had a really great time.

If I confess, can we reach a plea agreement?
