Default Poor man's TPMS

Stopped by the local auto parts store today and picked up a $10 package (of 4) of these:

Here is one installed on my front tire:

I don't imagine they are outrageously accurate--but if I get lazy and put off checking Glodean's tire pressures maybe one of these days one of these will provide the kick in the butt I need to check things.

Default Weight?

How much do they weigh? They look HUGH. Do they through the tires out of balance? If not great idea.

I remember when I got some of those a couple of years ago. They were made of plastic back then and when I hit the bottom of my driveway, which is on a hill, the front broke right off.

Never thought about wasting my money on them again. I hope they are made better now and don't break right away like they did on my bike.

They come for various PSI settings. I have the 40 PSI caps. I still check my pressure once a week but they make it nice for a quick check before a ride.

I bought mine at my local dealer but here is an on-line source as well
