Default Due to medical condition I have sell ?

I have developed a lung condition that leaves me short winded and a below average oxygen level in my blood. At least I’m not on an oxygen bottle yet.

I am finding it hard to ride comfortably sometimes and I can no longer handle the bike with confidence and am afraid I may miscalculate and get in an accident.
I never noticed the amount of energy it takes to ride a bike before. I always thought it was easy to ride.

Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do?

I have gone through a couple of serious cancer treatments in recent years and chemo saps the energy right out of you. Even after the treatment ends, it takes a long time to build the energy level back up. That's the reason I'm riding a Victory - I needed a lower seat height and CG in order to continue on two wheels. I was riding first generation Yamaha Ventures, which are tall and top heavy and became too intimidating, just like you are experiencing. So a change was needed.

The best lesson I learned, going through that, was to listen to my body and don't overdo things. When I didn't listen, I paid dearly the next day. If you have limited capacity and still want to ride, be very honest with yourself and trade down to a bike that you'll feel confident with and ride it to the best of your physical ability, but no farther. There are some really cool motor scooters on the market today - that's a route I'd go if that's what it takes to stay up on two wheels.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. You Canuks have "free" medical care, you should get cured real soon, eh?

I had a biopsy for cancer came back negative thank goodness as I’m still 13 years from getting my pension and am still able to work (I’m management so the days of hard physical work are behind me).

Thanks for the words of wisdom RICZ but my condition will not get better only worse with age.
PS; free medical turns into year + waiting lists for treatments.

I know, that's why I made that facetious comment. Too many Yanks think Obamacare is gonna be the cure-all, do-all for their health problems and mistakenly use Canada's system as an example.

I wish you luck and a good doctor. My Oncologist is keeping me on top of the lawn, so far.

Hate to ask but are you overweight. Diet, exercise and a good mattress can make a huge difference in your quality of life. Obesity seems to be the common denominator with a lot of health issues.

My condition is from years of welding exotic metals before respirators became common place. I have a WCB claim but it will not help me get better. Same as older coal miners have gotten black lung disease or insulators and boilermakers have gotten asbestoses.

Canada's system is not very good, Part of the problem is the low pay doctors and nurses recieve compared to the US. Lots of them leave for the greener pay in the US as soon as they graduate.

If BO gets re-elected, your doctors will be running back north, as that's been the plan here and payments are scheduled to get strangled even more.

Even tho my cancer is incurable, I am very fortunate to have private insurance (so far) that's covering more than 95%. That's cuz my cancer is so rare (only 8 other cases) and I am the only survivor, so I'm being used as a guinea pig by all concerned. I have a sign in my office that reads; God does not deduct from one's life time spent on a motorcycle. I've been riding 60 years, so I guess I'm working on that credit I accumulated.

So you think Romney is going to spend more on medical care? He has already made it clear he will be spending more on defense. Where is this raging liberal going to come up with all this money?

The problem with medical care is it does not lend itself to the free market. When someone gets ill, they aren't in much of a mood to shop and there is not much comparative data available anyway. The whole industry is a price fixing cabal and gov't and a few large insurers are the only ones with enough leverage to have any hope of keeping prices in check.

Best of luck to the both of you with your therapies.
