Default New Tires

It's about time for new tires. I am looking to put Metzelers on because, well, it's my prefered tire. So my question is, what is the difference between the ME880 and the ME888? Obviously the tread is different, but I can't find anything else about differences.

If it were me, I'd probably try to shoot them an email with that exact question.

The 888 is supposed to have a wider contact patch and is supposed to last longer since it has a new compound. The 888 was intended to replace the 880.
