Default HD to help Polaris...?

Quoted from Ciryl Huze news feed:
Polaris Motorcycles To Benefit From Harley Ads? Harley-Davidson increased its 2016 marketing budget by 70% and is currently running a ?Live Your Legend? advertising campaign to convince new riders to join the brand. On April 21st during a conference call to announce Polaris 1st-quarter results, its CEO Scott Wine stated ?We do think that with the increased Harley advertising and promotion there?s a chance that there?s going to be a tailwind for the industry and we expect to benefit from that. Nice when somebody else pays for your advertising?? - See more at: http://cyrilhuzeblog.com/#sthash.WXm6DueN.dpuf

Live Your Legend could certainly help Indian, not sure if it will have much of an effect on Victory though.

All the best,

Mark

The Bible: Read, Apply, Repeat

"That's a beautiful Victory!"
"Thank you."
"Who makes it?"
"No one."

Who turns Victory into defeat? Polaris Industries, that's who.

Any advertising for our sport will help all involved I would think. If people are interested, they will have to make a choice of bike. Hopefully they do some research and ride a few before just becoming lemming and follow some slick ad campaign or think the clothes sure are neat.

I still wonder about the future of Victory, especially in the big cruiser market. I am still usually the only person that can be found on a Victory in my neck of the woods but you will not believe how many new Indians I have seen, especially this year now that it has warmed up. Just about every single person I have seen on a new Indian are around 60 years old with plenty of expendable income, just like alot of HD buyers. The market Polaris still can't get hold of is the guy in his mid 20's to mid 40's who right now will borrow any amount of money at any interest rate to be on and be seen on a HD.

2011 Cross Roads Sunset Red
OEM short windshield, passenger backrest, crash bars, saddle bag bars, heated grips, vinyl closeouts, tachometer, ambient temp, LED headlight, luggage rack. WD lay down licence plate.

so true...mostly the younger people I see on newer bikes are the new yamaha and hondas...I would say a good 70% of the time at a gas station or the bar, someone asks me what the hell kind of bike am I riding...they don't even know what the fuck a victory is...they say it looks and sounds amazing though...but the fact that so many people have no idea what it is, is kind of alarming. Victory needs to step it up if they want people to know and not rely on some bullshit "tailwind effect" of HD advertising.

Fuck victory

I don't think Victory has much to worry about, Demo truck dropped off last night and we had people stopping in to ask to ride already and the bikes were not even out of the truck, this morning we opened at 9:30, and had the first group leave at 9:40, and the rest of the day looks the same, as long as the weather holds off.
