Default HD Street--seen one!

Finally seen a Harley Davidson Street on the freeway today. Guy passed me at a good clip. Riding by me on my left it reminded me of a mid 80s Honda, the rear section of the bike. I am assuming it was the 750, though it could have been the 500. We were doing about 80 mph and he passed us pretty fast. The other thing......he had a pipe on it, it was loud. The sound, to me sounded.....well not good, to me, what the hell, sounded like crap to me. Now I am sure the guy likes the sound, cool, but it just did not sound like I expected. I know it is not a big twin HD, but it was not appealing I guess to my ears. So lots of bikes do not sound good, my Victory could sound better to me, maybe with a better muffler, ha, ha. So not being mean, but usually HD do sound good for the most part. I also thought of the old Honda V4 Interceptor & Magna, some of those engines would just drone along with a aftermarket exhaust, did not sound good to me, but what great torque engines. So my hearing is not that great anymore, but some aftermarket exhaust companies need to do a little more research, ha, ha, not only on performance but quality of sound.

I've seen a couple here but not many. Most HD riders poo poo them as India made bikes. They only run around 57 HP stock and you have to hit the high end of the RPM rage to get that. But the torque is pretty impressive throughout the band.

Default First & only

Only one I have seen on the street. I was actually hoping it would take off for them. I actually figured one set up the correct way may even blow the Sportster way. Figure water cooling and four valves per cylinder. Maybe it will sell well in India and Europe. Also read they stopped production of the V-rod, I do not know how true that is.

You're right; they did stop production of the V-Rod. I have no idea if it's a permanent stop or just taking a break to decide what to do or maybe even give their new combo Softail/Dyna a better chance to take off. The Dyna has been discontinued as well.
