Default Vic keyless ignition fob - scorpio alarm

Well the rechargeable battery in my key fob crapped out. Went bad almost over night. Was good a couple of weeks ago, now won't hold a charge. You have to send the darn thing back to Scorpio in Arizona as it is soldered in. PIA!!! Anybody know how long these things generally last? Mines about 3 years old. Remote in my truck is 8 years old and still going strong. Not too impressed.

I think out of all those we sold, one out of four would come back with one form of a issue or another. Battery's dying or dead when they come out of the box, motion sensor too sensitive or not sensitive enough, walk away from the bike and the alarm would go off. That was one item I never liked to sell just because I know there might be a issue with them.

I've been using the Scorpio/Victory keyless ignition for 2 or 3 years and simply love it. But I do keep the key fobs fully charged. THey each take a week or so to run completely down when off the charger. At $20.00 I should just send them in one at a time to get the batteries replaced. Here's the link to it: https://ridescorpio.com/product-cate...-parts/page/2/

All the best,

Mark

I had a mysterious unexplained no start issue that I feel was alarm related. Bike would turn over fine not start. Remote had been buzzing in my pocket? When I called Scorpio yesterday I was whining a little and somewhat negative about their product and he essentially told me that if I didn't like it, take it out. Now how is that for customer service. What happened to trying to understand the customers problem and working with them to resolve the issue with the product. If I have any more issues I might just oblige him and remove it from the bike. I have no problem putting a key in the ignition. I bought the bike with the system already installed. I wouldn't put it on a bike even if it was free.

That was the one thing that I always tried to talk people out of buying, after we sold about a dozen of them and then had issues with just about half of them we can to the conclusion that man there is something more going on here with these things. We never had to deal with them direct, as it had a Polaris part number so we have Polaris deal with it.

Just the one time we had a used bike come in that had it and we needed a replacement fob, they was just covering their own butts and I understand them wanting to get info from the unit and the bike.
