Test ride 2019 Indians
A friend of mine really likes the new Indians. They had their demo truck up north side of Phx. this weekend. So we went up there today. I really like the looks of the Indian Scout Bobber. Took it out. Really like the engine and transmission, very smooth shifting transmission, and engine ran good. The shocks were a shock to my back. The bike had the short little shocks on it, which did not work for me, I new they would not. The other thing it had the forward foot controls,so I was riding in a clam shell position they call it I think. So if I were to buy one it would need new longer shocks of course and mid mount foot peg/controls. I actually did like the bike, just not the ride. It was very easy to handle and more torque than I expected, and very smooth. The other cool thing is I felt comfortable on it at a light, I could sit flat footed. So yes I know I should had rode a regular Scout , maybe next time. Also they did have the new FTR1200 there, two of them actually. No they would not let me ride one, I did ask. I did get to sit on one, but they are to tall for me, almost like sitting on some dirt bikes to me. It was a cool looking bike, I do not actually care for the computer dash/screen, I like the old analog gauges. ..... So I did actually take out a white one, a Springfield. Very nice smooth riding bike, smooth trans, plenty of power. The engine has three modes of power. This bikes power mode was set on Sport, which is a little to on off on the throttle to me, to touchy. I did not know how to set it on standard or I would have. Am I going to buy one? Will not say never, but no money right now for a new or different bike. Will say I was impressed, for a large bike it is(like Victory) very well balanced and plenty of power. Do I feel like I have to have one down the rode, no not really, but the Springfield was very easy for me to handle even with my short legs. I could see a person very easily racking up 600 or 700 miles in a day on one, no problem.
