Default HOH-501 or HOH-505 cams?

I was looking at the cams on LLOYDS site and read the description fo both of these cams. They both claim +16-18 HP gains. Itís hard to discern much difference through the description. It looks like the 505 is the Signature cam and the 501 is the VM1-DR.
Can anyone tell me the difference between the two?

Yeah the website dont really elaborate on the differences does it.
He does emphasise low to mid on one.
I have the VM1's and Im very happy with the performance, low to mid and into the stratosphere.
Ring Lloydz on the telephone and ask.
Ive rung there a few times over the years and theyre always helpful.
Dunno why people dont use phones any more seems the new generation only txt or email.
Some places dont even publish phone numbers any more, and specially govt. depts.

What is most of your riding like? Do you wind out the motor or do you normally just cruise along? If you just cruise along, the signature cams may be a better fit. Top HP isn't the whole picture.
Best bet might be to call Lloydz and get their recommendation for your riding style.

I want low to mid range improvement. I read their descriptions and did notice the one mentioned low to mid range. The rest of the two descriptions were pretty much the same. I was just wondering what the real difference in the two are.
I wonder what the lift and duration of each one are though, not that it really matters much I suppose. But you know, curiosity and all.
Thanks for the replies.

The Signature Cams (505) make best average power from 2000-5000
The VM-1s Cams (501) make best average power from 2500-5500
The HPT Cams (504) make best average power from 3000-6000
The .495 Cams (506) are for high compression or big bore builds.

Of course, this will vary with exhaust choice... but you get the idea.

Let's say you go with the 505s and your friend with the same bike goes with the 504s. He will beat you in a drag race, full throttle for 1/4 mile... but your bike pull away in 5th gear roll-ons from 50 mph and be more enjoyable 2-up/loaded down.

The 501s would be a middle ground between the two...

You need to decide what you want from the cam change and choose accordingly.

Only if I could make this a sticky...
If you want to post this in the Tech section, I can sticky it...
