I just replaced fuel pump and filters , my bike started and ran that day , next day bike started spit and sputtering , now it won't start , any ideas

The first thing I would check is to ensure I got the fuel line and electrical lines connect securely.

There will be others post that may have had a similar problem. Do you hear the fuel pump pressure up when you turn on the key. I take it that it is turning over but not firing off.

I was riding beginning of the summer and it just died on me on interstate, last weekend I replaced fuel pump and filters , and it fired up I rode it about half HR with no problems then I parked it til next day , then I washed it and after drying and waxing I started riding it started spitting and sputtering so went home and when I shut off bike I t won't start back up , its firing but not starting , I'm gonna go get fuel pressure gauge and check that now hopefully it's still good but if it's good I don't no what to do

Water in your air filter

This happens on my Jack-Hammer when I ride in the rain, but if i would wash it without covering the intake that is what you get,

Sputtering and stuttering

Just start the bike with a charger on it, then slowly ride with 4000 rpm around the block, if you go 3500 it can shut off

If water in spark plug cavity, it may be grounding out. Did you also try IAC reset?

The internal fuel line and filter have to sit all the way back(toward the seat) in the tank, between two molded in brackets. If the line and filter aren't seated in there correctly it'll likely float high and the bike will seem like its run out of fuel... If you have a manual you can see what I'm referring too. But I'll see if I can copy the page

I can't cut the pics out of the .pdf but they are in section 5.21

PaiN's post was also my first thought. To test that theory, fill the tank all the way up and then try to start the bike after priming the fuel pump a few times. If it starts, you'll need to remove and the properly install the fuel filter and the pump.

Like PaiN said, if the fuel filter isn't placed properly, easy to do, the fuel filter will ride too high and starve for fuel long before it should.

What they said.

I am concerned about the unexpected shut down prior to the service work you did, but, to my chagrin, I have always been directed to the last work I did when looking for a problem. I would include a look at the electrical wires where they are fitted to the connectors that are installed in the different harness junctions.

Patience is indeed a virtue when working around electricity.

Good luck with your search.

Did you flush any crud out of the tank when you had the trapdoor open?

You ever think about just taken it to a shop that works on Victory's?

Very interested what the outcome is,

Subscribed and Wondering myself what the outcome of the problem is .. Heard a few negatives on Washing a Victory but never had a problem with this just use a Low Pressure Garden Hose and extra careful where I spray the water .. This is my 2012 XC Washed throuroughly then Treated with Top Coat F11 at 4 1/2 Years Old and 80,000 Miles on it just before traded it in on a 2017 Chieftain Dark Horse ..
