Default CCT Gas Cap Indexing

Has anyone cut the tab holding the vent inside the gas cap cover to index the gas cap? I believe moving the cap would facilitate easier fueling, especially from the left side or even 90 degrees to what comes stock...

The vent sticking up should hold in place - I don't know.

2 of the 5 bolts that appear to hold the cap assembly on are dummies and the holes are spaced in a way that won't let you rotate it. You can get a pop-style cap from Kewl Metal and if Ness got their venting problem fixed you can get caps from them too.
