Default Broken oulet from the fuel pump

Hi Guy's.

I have done the most stupid thing and broken the outlet plastic tube on the fuel pump under the tank whilst trying to remove the stupid clip.

I just rang the dealers and got a quote for $695 for a new fuel pump ( Made in fkn China ).

Has any one else done this and can it be glued, welded ( or anything else ) back together ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Even if anyone knows what ype of plastic the fuel pump cover is made of would be helpful.

Cheers

Don't Really have a good Answer for you other than this.. Sure Wish someone would make an Easy Fix for this as have heard of it happening too often .. Although have removed my tank 3 times with no mishaps, Scares me every time I do it ... Drill and tap for a pipe thread. Get a brass nipple and thread it in. That's what I would do.
There is a guy on another forum that made a plate with a nipple.

Thanks VJ,

Excellent reply / help,

On the way to the machinists now to get a fix.

The most interesting bit was the costs that others had paid for a new fuel pump in USA v's my quote of $700.

Cheers
