Default installing new tank badges?? help!

ill start this off by saying that i am new to victory, but have been wanting one for years. so, last thursday i bought a 2006 vegas 8 ball. love it so far, but... with most of the 8 balls that i have seen, no tank badges.

here in lies the question.

i bought new 09 tank badges for it, as i wanted the black ones, without color. they dont appear to want to flex to the shape of the tank very well, and want to peel off at the top. so, i decided to put some good old engineering skills to work(i am not an engineer). i grabbed multiple towels, and some ratcheting straps, and decided to use them to put pressure to the badges hoping that this would help them cure a little better.

any one got a better idea? or is there a chance that i am goint o mess the tank up?? they arent on theretoo tight, but with enough pressure to help keep them in place... i hope

Something is wrong because you shouldn't be having that problem. Did you buy the new tank badges new? Are you putting them in the same spot as the old ones?

i thought i was able to get them in the same location, but all i had to go on was distant pics from the internet.... I don't suppose anyone on here has close up detailed pics of their tank badges that i can compare them to?

If they are the OEM badges, they should already be shaped to fit nicely. Not sure if there is a left or right difference. Worst case, if you end up taking them off. You can always use the flexible barracuda tank badges that we sell.

they are the OEM badges, directly from victory. there is a right and left badge, and i made sure to use the correct one for each side. right now i still have the straps and the towels hoping to make it seal a little better, but i know that i am going to end up having to rip them off, and buy another pair and have a pro put them on...

This is pretty much the positioning on the tank. Keep in mind the double sided foam tape may be pretty thick, so it may appear like it is away from the tank itself. The barracuda badge edges go right to the tank with no gap.

are the Barracuda badges just stickers, or are they similar to the thick badges that Victory puts on from the factory? Because my factory badges have a gap. They look like they are peeling off, but they aren't. I just don't like the look of it.

You can call them stickers...the tank badges are made of a mylar type material with about a 1/8" flexible clear poly domed over the design. They come with a 3M adhesive already on the back and the edges of the badge comes right to the surface of the tank when installed.

They don't have the foam double sided tape like the oem ones.

I will try and take a side profile picture of one of the many sets we have in stock and post here later this evening.
