Default My dilemma need some help.

Being new at the sport and now wanting to drop a new vic I got a cheap Fz6 as a learning bike. Long story short here I just sold it and now I canít make up my mind I only have (or want to spend) about 8-9K at most right now on a used bike I know this is not much so right now I have two choices.

1. Get a Buell Ulysses and ride the crap out of it for the rest of the year and have some fun on it. It is a cheap bike and I have one found that is a good buy. It is not a Vic by no means but still I think it would be a fun bike to get me buy on and then do option 3

2. Get a older Victory that is not (what a want as far as style and such for a lower price) Then sell it and find a nice Victory kinda feel like this is not the best option.

3. Buy the Ulysses and get a nice Victory next spring or this winter that is exactly what I want that has all the bells and chrome and I have lots of time to look for my perfect choice and I can also keep it for a wile and not have to look for a cheaper bike that is not exacty what I want.

I do allot of 400 mile rides on weekends and want to do a Coast to Coast ride next spring-summer but yet I still like to ride my bike every day back and forth to work so maybe a Victory is to nice of a bike to do this on but I thoughts are you buy it to enjoy it right?? Maybe some of you can chime in here and tell me thoughts on a Victory for the long and short rides and if you have ever owned a Ulysses I would like to hear your thoughts on this bike as well VS the Victory.

Thanks!!

I don't know anything about the Ulysses. However you can find Vegas and Kingpins for 6-8k.

After a thorough search, I paid short money for a slightly used KP during the off-season. Worth every penny. You won't be disappointed.

Your asking opinions, so i'll give it. Since you say a vic you can afford right now is not the style you want, and you say the Buell would probably be a lot of fun, Get the buell now, then save up and buy the vic of your dreams off season!

What Diamond said....

ANY motorcycle is an irrational purchase if it's not 100% primary transportation.

IMO, you should start off "closer" to what you want rather then trading bike here/there to get to your bike.

My 2 cents is to find a deal on a newerish Vic (2006+) or to save your pennies. The Buell resale is horseshit.

Good luck.

No doubt you lose money trading bikes around, especially in today's marketplace. Very unlikely that one would be able to buy any bike, use it, and then sell it and get all your money back, especially if it is a bike that is out of production like the Buell.
