Default Introduction and Question.

Hi guys, my name is Ken Goods and I just became the luckiest guy on earth for the second time!

First... I married the most beautiful woman on earth... quite the feat since I'm pretty average.

Then this beautiful woman goes out to the casino last Friday and wins a drawing for a 2007 Vegas Jackpot!

A little background on the ride. It belonged to the owner of the Polaris dealership here in town and he had it tricked out pretty well and put 2500 miles on it just as a demo running it around town to show what could be done with these beautiful machines. He ended up selling it to the Casino for their promotion. It's never been titled or licensed and I have the original certificate of live birth (Certificate of Origin for a Vehicle)

I'm getting conflicting stories as to the value of the bike and since I'm new to Victories I don't know who to believe. We had to sign a 1099Misc for 19K as the value of the bike for tax purposes. The guy at the dealership said if we decided to sell it that he wouldn't take less than 20k for it. I've looked around (ebay and cycletrader) and it seems that they don't go that high but then again I didn't see one that had everything this one does.

It's got new tripletrees (45 degrees), swept pipes/K&N with stage one mapping, Kewlmetal air ride suspension with the onboard electric compressor, a buttload of chrome, and lots of little things that, as with all bike accessories, cost a fortune.

The bad news is I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford to keep her regardless of how much I want to. I've ridden all my life until about 1999 (I'm 55) and this thing is exactly what I would have bought if I had been able to.

So I'm just looking for some honest, knowledgeable opinions from the guys in the know as to what the value is in case I have to sell her. (I REALLY DON'T WANT TO!!!)

I know pictures would help a bunch and have uploaded some to one of my blogs.

You can find them here: http://kengoods.com

Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Here's hoping that I won't have to let her go and I'll be able to meet some of you on the open road!

Kind regards,
Ken

As everyone in the HD world says (just cause they spend so much money "making their HD theirs") All the add-ons DO NOT COUNT towards resale value...Sorry, whatever NADA or KBB says it's worth is all your going to see...IMHO.

First welcome to the VF and CONGRATULATIONS on your bike and being lucky enough to find HER!

Depends on the model bike you have. If it is a Ness Jackpot then it can get a little more.

I will be the first to tell you that all the accessories don't add up to a hill of beans in resale. That is what it is.

Believe me when I tell you because I have an completely tricked out Jackpot. I put her on ebay just for the heck of it and the highest bid was 13k. Granted people on ebay are looking for deals.

The other thing to consider is a bike is a luxury/toy. The economy has slowed the sales of such things.

Post some pics of your bike.

FYI this is my bike that I was offered 13k for.

Thanks guys!

Yeah that's pretty much what I anticipated. As with all things, how much it's worth is how much you can get for it right?

I appreciate the input.

I'm leaning hard towards hanging on to it because it's just soooo sweet! I'll just have to find a way to make it work.

Sure shouldn't have to pay taxes on 19k if it's only worth half that though.

As for pictures... there are a bunch like I said in my first post at:

http://kengoods.com

Here's a couple below.

I would value it between $11k - $13k. jmo

2007 Jackpot Premium
HID Headlight
Swept Exhaust
Torque Tubes
Monster Baffles
Power Commander

Too much chrome and add ons to list.

Default Thanks all...

BikerKapa: The wife? I fully intend to!

The bike? I sure hope it works out, it's time I get my face in the wind again!

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

jazzdogg: kevinx is right, it's a wind vest.... perfect for me, I'm 5'10" and it keeps the brunt of the bugs off your cheeks and it cuts the wind quite a bit but not all of it. Some comes through between the triples and the bottom of the screen. But that little flair at the top really does seem to work better than the small ones without it. I really like how unobtrusive it is yet still does a decent job. nice balance between looks and functionality.

ronfox: WOW! One of the nicest bobs I've seen. Really unique! Not my cup of tea but I'm positive Paul Sr. would be proud! Looks like it would be a blast to ride!

MSchneid: Thanks for the opinion and input. It's nice to hear hard numbers... after doing more research I think you're spot on.

Everyone ride safe and I'll be lurking for a while and if it works out and I get to keep her I'll be a regular around here!

It would really be a shame to let her go... especially since it was luck that brought us together.

Thanks again everyone!
Take care...
