Default Harley envy?????

For the love of all that is holy. Stop it. I have one dealer in my area that doesn't sell Harleys, thank god, and they are closed on Sunday. You know what, I don't care. I don't want to be like Harley D. I'm tired of the comparison. If you want everything they have, then go buy one and quit your belly aching. I drive a semi truck all week long. I'm only home on weekends. I still get to ride or work on it. I've learned to work around these things. Would it be nice to have a 24/7/365 dealer, of course. It would be nice to have a winning lottery ticket and many other things to....... Another thing, is it that important to have shirts, boots, jackets, underwear, toilet paper, socks, dog collars, finger nail polish, earrings, condoms, perfume, sun glasses, nose rings, hats, fake tattoos, doggie clothes, shot glasses, beer mugs, bottle cossies, bottle openers, lighters, purses, wallets, clocks, shoes, tampons, diapers, baby bottles, your first born, front teeth, etc.......... with the word VICTORY on it. If so, I'm in the wrong business. Harley D has been at this for so long now, and the only new things they can come up with are things to put the H-D on, seems pretty sad to me, and you want Victory to start doing that now. No ty........ If I hear "well the resale value" one more time, I'm shooting a hole in a V-twin. I've never and will never purchase any toy because of resale value. It is not an investment. It is a TOY! Whether you paid 1k or 40k, it is still a TOY. Like any toy, you will not get your money back. If you purchase a toy because of resale value and not because you liked it. Then I'm truly sorry for your anus, it must be tied in knots. I've not thought of selling, trading, or any other transaction with my Vic that would make me think "I wish my resale value was higher". If that is your first thought when you purchase something, well..... In the end all I can say is this. I like what I own for what it is, does and, for what it isn't. A VICTORY, puts a smile on my face, not an over used name of something that is used just to sell things... Ty and safe riding.

AMEN brother. I buy my toys for ME to enjoy. When I sell them, I get what I can for them and move on, being thankful that I was able to have them, and knowing that I had what I wanted.

Say what you like, Vic marketing is working tirelessly to create their own Harley empire. Their shops are becoming filled with Vic labeled doodads and every model Vic produces is made as an alternative to something in Harley's lineup.

The days of taking bold chances on the styling of and functionality of bikes like the Vision and the Hammer are gone. They have been replaced by cheap, milquetoast suspensions, spoked wheels, and whitewalls. They must see something in that Harley business model we don't? All they need to do is start engineering them so that the motor grenades every 25k miles or so to keep their service depts hopping, and the cloning job will be complete.

So what are you trying to say? Please be direct.

Seriously, I agree. I also believe that if I read one more post about a clunk while shifting into 1st gear, my head will explode.

Have you considered decaf?

After just getting back from Deals Gap I'da thought you would be more relaxed.

I do, however, whole heartily agree. I bought a bike to ride, not to define my wardrobe and decor.

I have a few articles of Victory clothing, a ball cap, sweatshirt, and a textile outer layer... Id like to have a couple T shirts maybe, but that's about it for me. I like my Victory and I guess I would like to support the brand in general, and my local dealer who seem to treat me quite fairly on prices and such, But , I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, none of which will ever bare the word Victory on their collars !

well maybe when victory has been around 110 years they'll have all of that, for now i'll settle on the fact they continue to build better bikes, and something with a little different look that appeals to my eye.

You're bike may be a toy.But mine aren't just a toys.I use mine for transportation. They are as important or more important to me than any other vehicle I own. You can validate it any way you like, but if you don't have a at least a little concern that your vehicles don't reasonably retain resale value, then I'd love to buy my next bike from you.lol

Tarzan I completely understand your point of view there, but nothing at my house have I bought or purchased or trade for due to the fact that the resale value was good.
