Default Regulator Protection

I have a Vegas 8-Ball and after 8000 miles the regulator if chipped to hell... I have taken it off, sanded it down and I am now prep'ing it for painting... (Can't re-powdercoat it due to the heat during the process).

Given its location it is not surprising it is chipped to hell...

Does anyone know if someone does a protector guard that will protect the Regulator and would also be much easier to re-spray or powder coat when chipped?

The Kawi Vulcan 900 has its regulator/rectifier right behind the front tire too. They've actually got a metal grille that bolts over the front of it. Dimensions probably wouldn't match up, but cobbing in something like that from another bike might be possible.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
