Default Corbin seat backrest vibration

I have a '13 8 ball with a Corbin touring seat w/backrest. I rode w/the backrest on the rider position for the first time today-ever. Wow, what a difference. Yes, there's a but...

The ride felt a bit different, and after about mile 100 I realized that there was a new vibration, actually enough to jar my vision a bit. I finally realized it was vibration coming up through the backrest, gone when I leaned forward.

So, my question is this-anybody else with a backrest experienced this? If so, is there a way to fix it? Otherwise I'll move it back to the passenger position and throw a bag on there.

I have a backrest for the wife on the back of my 2011 KP 8 Ball. She says the same thing. It was a major reason for the upgrade to the XR.
