Default Did you get offered a test ride?

Rode to the local dealership twice in the past month or so. The first time I rode there I sat on a few bikes and asked about them. Told them i was looking at Harleys as well and test rode a few, but I wanted to know more about the Victory. Beat up Harley but never offered me a test ride. Now the HD dealership could not throw me keys fast enough to any bike on the used lot I wanted to take out. Very different vibe. Apparently Polaris does not control their dealerships. this particular one has taken to selling beater used cars and changed their name to and changed their name to AutoMaxx. Not exactly confidence inspiring. I am surprised Polaris would condone this.

Went back today and asked them about the XR and told them I was looking at one and asked about their service dept. Seems they were not really interested unless I wanted to buy one of 6 XCTs they had on the floor. However they did tell me I am better off buying new because I could get a $1500 discount over the used one I said I have not rode one yet.....still no offer for a test ride.

I don't know. Maybe they did not think I was serious or had the money. The HD dealership had no such reservations. I did everything but pull out a check book.

"Ride one and you'll buy one" Seems like the word has not gotten out to this second rate dealership.

Yep! Shoals outdoor sports in Tuscumbia Al. Pretty much offered to let me ride anything on the floor to find what works for me. And I bought one form them even though they are on the opposite end of the state.

None of the Vic dealerships offered me a test ride either, I had to ask for them. A couple of them were not to willing but told them if I don't test ride I don't buy so that changed their minds.

That is screwed up that you are having trouble. Dealers in my area let people test ride all the time. I test rode 3 bikes one afternoon and they new I was not going to buy for atleast 6-8 mounths. I also test rode a highball just to see how it felt with those bars. They new I would never buy it. All I get is sure the keys are in it.

Do you have a special character flaw that mandates sniping at posters on this forum? If you don't like a specific post... we would appreciate it if you could restrain yourself and just move on!

My dealer, that I had already bought two bikes from flat out denied me a test ride, If I had it to do over I would have went somewhere else and they would have lost the sale, never again without a test ride...Thankfully I like the Hammer and I'm happy with it...

My dealer offered a test ride, brought it outside, gave a quick instruction on where things are on the handlebars and said "see ya later". When I got back he said "what do you think?". I said I'll take it!
