Default Wendover UT to Las Vegas NV

Hi guys, our trip to the US will have this road. Looking at the maps is it worth turning left at Ely and riding down thru Caliente and Kane Springs Road? The main road thru to Vegas looks pretty straight and boring. Any one been there done that?

Both routes are pretty boring but the route through Ely at least has a few more things to look at. The distance between gas stations on the Ely route could be a factor so make sure to map that out as well.

US93,95,50,395 are the best roads to travel thru Nevada imo.I go thru there quite often to So. Cal or the Oregon coast.Nevada is hot, desert and sage brush for the most part.I80 and 15 are pretty boring. Ely is kind of a fun little town right in Great Basin NP.The Hotel Nevada is a nice stop off, biker friendly and $40 rooms

Thanks guys, so Kane springs Rd is sealed all the way? We have a couple of HD sporties travelling with us so they may have a problem with fuel.

We just had a closer look at Googlemaps and the Kane Springs Road hwy 317 is only 128 miles from Caliente to LV but takes 4 hours, maybe dirt road?

Confirmation, Kane Springs Road is only sealed for 21 miles from Caliente [Nevada Roads website] hence the 4 hours, a bit oof a giveaway in hind sight.
