You paligamist pig (pun intended). I was happy with my Glide but am glad to have my XCT for it's low maintenance and projected longevity. I'd really like to see the V-Rod engine in an FLH. Not so much for my benefit as I don't intend to switch back but just to hear the die hards bitch to the high heavens.

Many moons ago when Joel was married to Christie Brinkley and he had just made the uber big time, Playboy interviewed him.

One question was about since he had an estate in the Hamptons and was rolling with a supermodel did he know how much he was worth.

He said that sometimes in the middle of the night he would get up and go down to the fridge for a glass of milk and that there was a door to the garage off the kitchen. He would take his milk and go out into the garage and flip on the light and stare at his bikes. He said that he knew that there was no bank lien on any of them and in those moments he felt like a wealthy man.

True story- Joel did 10 sold out shows at Mohican Sun three or four years ago. My bro is a Long Island boy and called me to get tix. All I could land was 4 nosebleeds in these behind the stage ladder bleachers at like 5 or 6 hundred.
Band comes onstage, and we're looking out between light bars and hanging monitors at the bald spots on the back of they heads. My bride was unfrigginghappy (she didn't like Joel anyways). Then the stage opens up and Joel rises out of the floor at the seat of a grand piano in profile to the audience and therefore in profile to us and since we were maybe 25 feet above the stage but only 15 feet behind the drummer our view of him was front row. The whole band breaks into a three song medley to open the show that lasts maybe 10 minutes without letup. Crowd rushes the stage at the finale of the opener and he gets the standing O. He takes his bow and mops his bald head with a towel and turns to us in the ladder seats behind the stage and says "I'm thinking you fuckers thought you had the worst seats in the house."
The Queen now appreciates a little Billy Joel and as I recall I did not sleep on the couch that night.

Red.

We can't help it
We just keep moving
It's been that way since long ago
Since the stone age chasing the great herds
We mostly go where we have to go

It was a Street Glide. 4 hour ride. Very nice bike. Cockpit shorter than the Vision, heel toe shifter took some getting used to. Vibration at red lights much greater than Vision. Electronic throttle really nice. Handled great, rode very nice, view was nice, instrument panel a little harder to see. Sort of like the fairing that is not fixed. I liked it. Like my Vision more but overall very nice bike

So I was reading today that KTM has overtaken BMW as the dominant European motorcycle brand.

Who the hell is KTM? Don't they make orange hooligan bikes? Apparently, very good ones. They were able to usurp the giant and did it without playing copy cat. Victory, are you listening?

Good observations Dave. You hit on all the relevant differences.

Yes; the trade off for the big twin HD touring bikes with the rubber mounted motors is they vibrate like a son of a gun at a stop and smooth right out once under way. They are designed to do that.

Good on ya mate. Glad you had a good ride...

I still have Harley blood flowing through my veins. Too many knuckle busters along the way to not have it.
