Default How to achieve ""contrast cut" on wheels

I'm thinking about sanding the "thin" part of my all black vegas 8 ball wheels, not the wide "face" part and am wondering if I could achieve a contrast cut type look. Thoughts?

That would look really nice. I am curious how that process is done. Try emailing Will at Cycleopsusa.

Will from CycleOps got back to me right away and explained that contrast cut items are made from billet aluminum whereas the wheels on my 8 ball are cast so I would not be able to achieve the same result. He likened the consistency of billet vs. cast to a bar of soap vs. a sponge; one obvisouly being smooth and one not so much.

From my first conversation with Will, he is a very knowledgeable guy thats more than willing to help (he even offered helpful ideas to try out should I choose to go forward)...seems like a real good guy to do business with.
