Default Canadian Dealer Dissapointment

Does anyone know of a respectable dealer or repair shop in Ontario Canada, or even Buffalo N. Y. ? I have just purchased a 2007 Victory Ness Jackpot from a dealer in the U S. In conversation with Peak Powersports in Burlington, I was told by them they would not service the bike at all because it was a U S purchase and they did not get the sale. I find this very dissapointing as I thought Polaris Industries and their Victory bikes had a great reputation in North America. Before my purchase I read on this forum that Polaris was rated #1 in customer satisfaction 3 years in a row. What a shame for Canada that we can not be treated the same as our fellow riders in the U S. Any assistance would be great

Actually, it's a shame on your dealer, and nobody else. It's their decision if they want to pass up on business. They do have the right to refuse business.

May I ask whom at the dealership you've spoken with? Was it the service guy, or did you talk to a pissed off salesperson? The service guy should care less of where you've bought the bike, as you're offering him business to maintain it.

His Name I believe was Nathan. He was actually one of the owners at Peak Powersports. I wll also be contacting Polaris as well. I do believe they have a right to know and also will not be happy with his response. I will let everyone know in the future as to what their response is

He might have been having a bad day, and is upset local customers go farther to get a good deal. That's his decision on what deals he offers his local customers, and based on that, local customers will buy locally or travel farther to buy elsewhere.

That is completely retarded! Dealers generally make more money from service and accessories than bike sales. They are morons for refusing service to anyone regardless of where the bike was purchased! Victory sells an average of 33 bikes a year; there are approximately 300 Victory dealers -- over 50% of motorcycle owners do their own maintenance. So figuring this dealers has been in operation for 10 years he would have sold approximately 330 bikes. Using the 50% mentioned above he would service 165 bikes per year which could easily be cut by another 50% due to short riding seasons. So now you're looking at 82.5 bikes per year. If each of them paid $50 he would do OK until wages, materials, taxes, and utilities were paid. How does this place stay in buisness???

yes that sucks, in my business i sell and install / replace various items, due to the economical climate where im located [ so. calif. ] business is off by 50 % however if i get a call from a potential customer asking if i would install a part or piece of equipment he bought elsewhere my reply is Absolutely, a piece of the pie is better than no pie at all ! , and is good for customer relations for future needs.

on the plus side , changing the oil and filter is a snap, and due to the fact Vic's really don't need a lot of maintence or break often, you should have no problems , sooner or later your dlr. may come around, then again you may not care to set your foot inside his place of bussiness, thankfully there are other dlr's that are more open to any business than he aparently is.

How many Jackpots did he have for sale???? Probably NONE as Jackpots are not popular sellers, so stock is very limited in my experience.

Check the Victory Polaris site for dealer locations, I just checked and it said there were 6 dealerships around Toronto.

there is a new victory dealer in port colborne ont i'm from lamont alberta i stopped in for a look at the shop and the guys were pretty friendly i would at least give them a call. 08 victory vision

There is less competition (few competitors) in Canada than in the US. As a result, companies charge what the market or consumers can bear.
