Default Victory stores that really know their products

I have had dealings with Victory of Mesa, bought my Vision there and Randys in Marengo, IL. It is so refreshing to go into a store where they really know their products, after market products and are easy to deal with. Some other stores I have been in seem to so lacking in product knowledge I wonder why they even sell the bikes. Just my 2 cents.

My Cross Country came from Vicotry of Mesa Dealership as a dealer purchase by Cochise Motorsports, who also knows their product line very well. Bobby is our main tech and he's on top of his game.

Its also puzzled me, not just dealerships, but part suppliers, or custom shops etc.. I used to have my own business selling motorcycle parts, as well as powder coat, paint etc.. I found more often than not I would have to explain no kidding how this or that would or would not benefit a customer because another place told them some off the wall crap.

It is weird. I went into a shop and I wanted the gatling gun tips for my Vision. Guy insisted they would not fit on my exhaust and wanted to sell me almost what the stock ones looked like. I said I have seen them on Visions and he said sure but earlier models. So anyways after I got the bike at V of Mesa I asked their guy Chris, no problem. Put them on in about 10 minutes. I am pretty passionate about my business and try to stay on top of everything and I cannot imagine not knowing something and then acting like I do.

I guess that is why some succeed and some fail.

3.5 months ago my new 2012 zero mile pearl white CCT came home with me from Randy's Cycle in Marengo, IL. Randy found it in Wyoming and worked out a dealer to dealer transfer. I've been to about 8 different Victory shops between IL, WI and IN. IMHO, I find Randy's Cycle stands head and shoulders above any I have been to. Some are good and I could certainly work with them if I lived closer but, some are simply awful. I'm more than blessed to have Randy's Cycle as my local dealer of choice.

Since I bought my CCT, two of my BFC M/M have also bought a CCT from Randy. They're certainly worth the drive. I look forward to visiting some of the other good dealers in Wisconsin as well. I really look forward to visiting The Vic Shop in Iowa for some alterations.

All the best,

Mark

Who turns Victory into defeat? Polaris Industries, that's who.

2012 Pearl White CCT. Lloyds DR cams, Timing Wheel (+4), Air Filter, 1/4 Turn Throttle Ring, PCV, Tri Oval mufflers, Dyno Tune from Rylan Vos - The Vic Shop: 112/113. Bad Ace Billet tank lifts and Raging Cajun Medium Low & Throaty mufflers added well after the Dyno run.

I heard a lot of wrong and silly information in all brands of motorcycle dealers.

This is from a Victory dealer, a customer was buying a bike and wanted to purchase Bell brand helmets, the sales man tells the customer it does not matter the brand because all helmets are made at that same factory and they just put on different brand names on them before they are sent out for sale.

For kicks ask any car sales person what the 0-60 times are on a particular model. Like say a Vette. Then sit back and enjoy the scramble for a brochure. Sad but lots of people selling do not have a clue about what they are selling. Example small store here with a 2 man sales crew outsells all the other Vic stores. Why simple, they know the product, offer a fair price, take trades and have great after sale service in parts and work. Hopefully the Indian shops will learn from this and hire top notch people that know the product. BTW my latest one was a friend of mine looked at a couple of Vics and the guy told him that the JP was faster than the Vision due to size of the motor. that 106 on all the bikes is confusing. Maybe faster due to weight not engine size.
