Question 2012 CCTspecification clarification Please

I have a 2012 cct and the specs in the manual for fuel capacity read
FUEL 5.8 Gallons. Below that line it reads RESERVE 1.2 gallons. Does this mean that the total fuel capacity is 7 gallons? Or, does it mean that the 1.2 gallon reserve is included in the 5.8 Gallons??

The manual also mentions recommended fuel is 91 Octane. I have been running 87. Don't know where I got that from. Maybe confused with the Suzuki c109 ( my last bike) .. OHHH getting old is not easy.
Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank You

5.8 gallons total fuel capacity.
If you can run 87 without pinging, use it.

I actually got away with 89 octane on one fill up for my Vision 106/6 engine but that was a bit more than a half tank mainly to find out if I could get away with it when I could not find anything better. At lots of stations the best they have is 89 around here so I had to know. There is no lack of small towns with only one gas station.

Present ride - 2013 Victory Vision, black, ATW at +3, Lloydz air filter and adjustable intake, PC5, 30,xxx miles
