Default Mad Harley rider.

Ran into a guy the other day while I was on a job. He heard a Harley riding by. He went and looked at it as it went by us. His next comment was it was a ---- Harley wanna-be. Then he proceeded to tell me he had a Road King. Usely I'll say nice bike, etc. This time I did not I just nodded,I was busy working. I then proceeded to say I went and rode a Victory and said I was impressed, smoothest bike I ever road. He did not comment further. So what do I do? I proceeded to tell him my wife likes the Victorys also, but she does not like my Triumph. He walked away, did not say a thing. I laughed inside to myself. I have already put up with people not liking my bike because it's a Triumph and not a Harley. It does not bother me,I actually think it is kind of comical. I personally do not want the same bike everybody else has.One day I hope to have a Victory in my shed with my other bikes.

I had a funny incident happen yesterday. I went riding with my son and his friend to Cycle Gear. They both ride crotch rockets.

After shopping we went to In n Out for some burgers. We pulled up and this guy was standing with his 1 or 2 year old son.

The little boy was standing there staring at us. He then ran directly to my bike and I jokingly told my son and friend, "see even he knows what a real mans bike is". We all started laughing.

We didn't see a different guy getting on his HD on the other side of the car next to us. He very sarcastically and seriously said "No this is a real mans bike" as we were walking past.

With absolute perfect timing the car between our bikes pulled out and my son turned and pointed to my bike saying "No THAT is a real mans bike". We walked away laughing even harder.

Didn't here the guy say anything else.

Thats only the second or third time in 5 years I've had an HD rider make a serious negative comment about Victory.

I've really only have ever gotten sarcastic remarks from people I know and then it's good natured. The only real negative remarks I've gotten (on this bike and my last couple) seem to come from Harley owners who don't appear to be very serious riders. They're more concerned with image and bought a H-D because their friends had one or they want that elusive Harley mystique - and even then I don't know what they'd say if they were by themselves.

If you're not riding around in a box, you're good with me.

Talking Diamond: put your Vic badge back on!

It doesn't help that you don't have the Victory badge on your tank anymore (or do you?). I've been asked before by an HD rider "what is that?" with a negative tone in his voice. I didn't answer, but he squinted at the badge, and his attitude changed as he exclaimed "Victory!" - He was friendly all of the sudden and was asking questions about the bike. There are those who have a bit of knowledge know about Victory, but not all will recognize a Vic just by looking at it - especially a modified one like Diamond's. They can tell it's not a Harley, and they assume its the enemy.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.
Riding: 2011 Cross Roads & 2016 Springfield
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Normally, I give a low wave to other bikers...

Yesterday, I decided to change it up to a V-for-Victory low wave.

My "it's not a Harley" speech is pretty simple:

If Harley made a bike that spoke to me, I'd have bought it...

A real man rides the iron he's on and doesn't care...

Here in minnesota biker wave to each other going down the road and for years i quiet waving cause I was tired of it. Now being on a vision I flip them the old peace sing cause it quite well fits.
Its to bad we could carry some small cds in our pocket that would show hd guys why we this victory it batter and give them one. You know they would play it when they could.
It will be a interesting summer here there is this huge bike store that just tuck on vic motorcycles and with in a hundred yards is the hd dealer. Well the fuel it truck will be here twice this summer and Arlen and Cory well be there. You just know that the hd guys that are not narrowed minded will walk over and take a peak and maybe a ride.

I had a great ride yesterday. First went to Ventura HD for their demo day because my friends wanted to check them out. Then went to neptune's net on pch then to the rockstore on mulholland dr. (I know doesn't mean much to most people but so cal riders know that these are hot biker hangouts) and everytime we stopped people came up to me and started sake questions first one being, what is that? and I have to tell you guys not one person had an attitude towards my bike everyone commented how cool it looks and stuff including the people at HD dealership.

Wife and I went out today to Solomons Islands today on the CR. I stopped at a stoplight and looked in my rear mirror and saw a Streetglide with his passanger. Light turned green and I took off as normal. He tried to go around me but got blocked in and sliped back in behind me. Next light cought us and we came to a stop. I knew that this light opened up to a nice straight away and told my wife that I was "getting" it on green. She knows better then to argue and I flet her wiggle in.

On green and hit it and I looked in my mirrors and the streetglide was in it too. After about 3 miles we hit the next light and instead of pulling up short and came along side and looked over and yelled back to his wife "Its a Victory!" Then he looked at me and yelled "That damn thing is fast! What's in it?" I just replied a stock 106. He just shook his head and said "She sure is pretty love the skulls..." Light turned green and I waived thanks...

Got to the mexican place my wife ways smiling ear to ear... What a girl!!!!
