Default Help Me Choose!!

Stopped by my local Victory dealer this weekend with my father and narrowed my choice down to two bikes, the Jackpot and the Cross Roads. I know they are two different types of rides but they seem to fit me when I rode them. I think I know which one I should buy but I just wanted to see what the wise forum suggested.

Here's a little information to help you provide me with the best advise. I know its a personal choice but a I just wanted to know what you guys think:

1) Im 510, 190lbs and prefer sitting low in the bike with a laid back riding position for style

2) I like cruising around town on the weekend with friends and sometimes by myself I also will be riding to work on dress down Fridays sometimes

3) The bike has to be stylish with some performance and pure with some chrome to sparkle when the sun hits it and when the night lights flash across it

4) I am really not a windscreen type of guy and I wear a full face helmet

Well, there you have it. Let me know which bike you think I should pull the trigger on. I plan to go back in a couple of weeks to see what the 2012s offer and probably park one of them in the garage around Christmas. I think a new bike would look good under the tree don't you think?

I await ( ) to hear what you guys think.

Thanks

I understand the attraction to the Crossroads, I love them too. But from what it sounds like, you have no need for a bagger.

If you're not planning any touring, or riding a lot 2-up (with a need for her to stow things like a purse), or at the least using it daily to the point where you'll be more likely to take it shopping or whatnot... you're getting into a bigger, heavier, less nimble at low speeds bike for no reason.

The Jackpot is a badass bar hopper that can still carry a passenger well and comfy, and if you ever want a windshield for long haul cruising, then you can get a quick-detach that will work well. I wear a full face helmet at all times too, but that doesn't reduce the violent effects of wind on the body

Jackpots also don't look and with quick-detach soft bags either. Again, you'll leave it naked most of the time, but when an irresistible road trip comes around, you slap on the bags and shield and you're all good.

Also keep in mind that if you like to ride hard, the floorboards of a Crossroads will be a little more limiting on lean angle than the standard pegs of a Jackpot.

I have a Jackpot and when I need to travel I slap on the Outlaw Chrome sissy bar and slide on my sissy bar bag.

Angel and I have gone away for a weekend and the bag holds all of our stuff and she rides comfortably.

If you want to ride to work on dress down Fridays get the Jackpot. If you want to ride to work every day get the XR and throw your fancy clothes in the bags.

The decision is more about comfort than anything because both bikes handle and perform well. If you are going to do any traveling get the XR; the bags are already on, the windshield will decrease your bug/rock intake and it rides much better than the Jackpot.

I agree with the others. Based off your listing of criteria I don't see where the XR is really needed. I say go with what gets your motor revving most. Obviously I lean to the JP since that's what I ride. Love it and it turns heads everywhere I go.

06 Jackpot - chrome...the ongoing saga
Ness Flybars / Ness flame grips / Ness slash pipes / Ness intake / Victory flame-stitched Bandit seat / Victory tach / billet Victory mirrors / Victory Premium HID headlight / Lloyds VFC Gen III / debadged w/ custom ghost flame paint / billet oil cooler / MBW rear LED / MBW radius side mount tag / 08+ Victory hydraulic clutch conversion
SOLD - Will miss her dearly!

Just my opinion then but I'd lean toward the XR unless you've always wanted a chopper-ish kind of bike. Then the Jackpot would be the one. I like the look and feel of the JP with the High Ball style/size apes on them. Again; that's just me though. That may not work for you.
