Default Vegas footpegs to kingpin floorboards??

I am thinking that I might want to put some floorboards on my Vegas and I was curious as to what would be needed to do this switchover as well as any thoughts on other things i might want to think of.... Are the peg/footboard locations different between the Vegas and Kingpin?? Would this affect the angle of the floorboards I might put on the Vegas... any thoughts would be appreciated... Just tryingot capture any ideas that I might need to think of that perhaps might not have come to my mind yet.

Being that I put Vegas foot controls on my Kingpin, I can tell you that the boards/foot controls will bolt right on. Same frame. You will need the Kingpin brake line. Maybe one of the Kingpin guys will trade with you.

I have owned
both types of foot rests and to me pegs are better for cornering. Floorboards I get my pants caught on them sometimes. I think for long rides boards are ok. I just think they are a little dangerous.

Check out our floorboard kits. They are adjustable and easy to install. Pretty affordable too. We even have the swing out ones that act like a highway peg.

Does anyone know of a full sized floorboard for the vegas as oppose to the mini floorboards? I wouldnt mind the mini's for teh passenger, but I was hoping for more of a full sized... I love the full chrome ones from Cycleops, but given the discussions around the time it takes to fulfill orders I am cautious.... also... I think that woul drequire changing the footpeg brackets from a vegas to a kingpin set up... (I think)

Default Floorboards

First, I think Cobra and Ness makes full size boards.

I've done some of this swapping, even putting Vegas pegs on a V92C. Other than brake line length, the only real issue I've ever seen is the clearance for the front exhaust pipe. Depending on what pipes you are running, some of the newer peg brackets (100CI and larger) have less clearance, since the motor was narrower due to helical gears.

If you go the route of the Kingpin mount our other boards will work and they are full size. If you don't like ours you can put stock vision or cross country boards on if you use some spacers.
