Default Vegas Ride Down-Under!

Another great bit of road going towards Uki from the direction of Nimbin.
masking tape over the mike on the camera dulls the windnoise better and not the roar of the pipes.
Enjoy the Ride

Nice video. The scenery was very nice but I was leaning with you and you need to learn to ignore those advisory posts and let your bike go closer to its limits. IMO that Vegas has plenty of added speed available with no threat. I had to learn to tell myself to trust the bike to even come close to real limits on my Vision. Yellow signs with wavy lines are not speed limits, they are suggestions.

Present ride - 2013 Victory Vision, black, ATW at +3, Lloydz air filter and adjustable intake, PC5, 30,xxx miles

Nice ride Chris

Hope you resolved your engine light issue.

Oldman- give me a break- he has a pillion (female), the roads are crap (look at the front forks almost bottoming out), its a quiet country road and who knows whats going to run out in front of him any second- kangaroo, wombat, pig, deer.......sheeshh!

Thanks for the pep talk coach, maybe I should've kept my GPZ900r and posted a hero video like one of yours, please direct me to your vids???
As Kris pointed out I had a female pillion on back (who trusts me implicitly I might add)...I'm riding a cruiser and I'm cruising, cruising back after a protest run where we actually did break the new laws by riding in a pack, and once the police escort pissed off we 'may' have actually exceeded the speed limit a little, but 'if' we did I'd be foolish to post that info on a public forum...OR upload footage of it.
1947 hey...ten years older than me....Im sure you didnt get that old by riding foolishly and purposely blitzing the speed limits so you could show off on camera.....if so where are the vids?
I've been riding since I was 15 ,which makes 42 years riding, and Ive come down a few times too, Ive gone into corners too fast and ended up under an armco fence, and it hurt, and I got the bike out and rode it 60 miles home before passing out in the front yard.
Oldman47...I know how to ride, and after almost 13,000 kilometers in 13 weeks on my Victory Im learning how it behaves over bumps, I assure you I found its limits the day after I bought it on the 2000 k trip home, and it has many limits compared with my Kwaka GPZ900r which I sold to buy the Vic, My GPZ was taken to its limits many times for extended periods of time on gunbarrel outback roads.
I bought the Vic cos she's a cruiser...a cruiser with balls yes...and on the right road...in the right circumstances I use those balls.
But I'd be silly to upload video evidence to a public site, have my bike confiscated and crushed under the new 'hoon' laws wouldnt I ?
FYI the yellow signs with 'wavy' lines are arrows indicating a corner, no doubt to inform numbskull car drivers and stoned hippies(its the road from Uki to Nimbin) that its a corner and to turn the steering wheel.
Advisory speed signs..and there are some if you stop leaning with me and look have a number on them..in KPH...I tend to take that number as MPH plus a bit when 'cruising steady' so 45k I may take at 50mph, depending on road surface, weather, instinct, how Im feeling at the time, and who is on the back.
The blanket limit for that stretch of road is 80 ks = 50mph
oh and the road is still damp in places from the rain we had on and off all day.
Sorry I'm not up to your standards Old man....you'll find lots of more thrilling vids on youtube if you look I'm sure
Have a Nice Day

looked like a good ride. thanks for posting it. Tell me more about the "hoon" law? What does that mean? If there is digital proof of breaking traffic laws the authorities can take and destroy your bike!?

Hey there Motorbikerx ,great vid mate and I'm hearing you loud and clear regarding the stoned hippy, made my way down to Nimbin also known as (Sinbin) a couple of years ago and if I wasn't approached by 30 different people asking me if I was chasing you know what, even the little bus we were on travelling there was an experience I don't wish to go through again, think the driver might have been one of those hippies you're talking about, definatly left some skid marks on the underwear

Thanks Aussiejackpot! yeah mate, we deviated thru Nimbin on our way back from Kyogle, the ride was from Jimboomba to Kyogle via the Lions Rd, a winding goat track rollercoaster that brought 2 bikes down both HDs, one requiring an ambulance, bad choice of a road for a group run and the weather certainly didn't help...we got through it unscathed thanks to experience having been on the road once before I used extreme caution.
Rode back a different way and not in a pack, deviated thru Nimbin, got offered herb on a few occasions, I'm sober and drug free last 15 years so politely declined.
Had an adrenalin moment on the winding downhill run into town, wet road, going maybe a bit quick but probably not quick enough for some a hippy in an old subaru 4wd wagon appears totally on my side of the road(thought he was in America) 2 short bends before me!
I hit the picks...a bit hard...locked the back which didn't slow me at all, so off brake and look and countersteer left...fool just missed us as he passed.
Gotta ride very defensively out there, winding roads, potholes, gravel, wildlife, subarus, the list goes on.....

Motorbikerx I'm glad you got through it unscathed, and here's a speedy recover to a fellow rider down, never nice to hear another biker having an off and taken away in an ambo.
