Wow thats right around the corner from SJ HD... guess they will be giving them a run for the money!!!!

Thats also right where the old SADDLE RACK (mini Gilleys) was located.... used to go there all the time - back in the day!

spent many a night at the rack... hope you make it on saturday, its a good thing to have a vic dealer in sj, i have a feeling they will do well. management is top notch. it feels funny to be so close to sj harley, i rode over to the harley shop with my buddies and i got mad dogged by some guys out front, i thought it was funny... i told them im more into having fun riding than riding to be seen... my buddys all ride h-d and they give me good natured crap, but its funny how some guys think they are in sons of anarchy and have to protect their turf...been riding harleys since san jose sportster in the 70's and sj harley was on san carlos, cant get enough ride time on my xc.

I made it to their grand opening yesterday. I rolled in around 10:30 and there was already a good size crowd. Their showroom is absolutely gorgeous! The staff was friendly and their service shop had several bikes being worked on.

I took demo rides on two Indians - a Vintage and a Chieftain. The demo rides were in groups of about 8 bikes. One leader and a sweeper. The demo ride was on city streets only and lasted approximately 20 minutes. After the demo ride they gave a food coupon that was accepted at either of the two food trucks on site.

The Chieftain I rode had a stage 1 setup. Nice sound, nice roll-on torque. It was a very comfortable bike to ride.

If anybody has the opportunity to go today, I highly recommend it.

Default grand opening

took a couple pics as i walked up, we got there around 1:30 decent crowd outside, packed inside. the ownership of martin and shea is apparent in the good vibe of the staff and the impressions they make with everyone. top notch ownership, i wish them the best. and kevin is a great guy to have running the show there, he is on top of things in all aspects, i highly recommend putting this dealership on the map next time blowin through san jose... as for the test ride? dissapointed in a few things, first unless there was a legal reason, (which would be ridiculous) the ride needed to have included some 3rd 4th 5th and 6th gear riding! c'mon man! i wasnt impressed at all with the power delivery on the cheiftan i rode, i hit third gear once, but the off idle power delivery was not good, my xc would eat it up, and a harley rider would wonder why there is such a lag down low... i could feel a bit from 2500 rpm up, but from a stop it was bad. all that said i realize it was a group ride and they had the orange vest crew directing traffic, although i was tempted to bail onto the freeway when we passed the off ramp... all in all, the day was fun, radio stations were there food trucks, vendors and the bands were excellent, the young lady inside was also really good singing and playing guitar...looking in the showroom, the victorys really dominate the floor and the public was gravitating that way as well, i know several bikes were sold and the vics got a lot of action. welcome to san jose spirit motorcycles!

That is no where near me, but I would think Victory and Indian would try to be together. Around hear Vic and Indian are at different dealerships. Maybe now that Indian seems to be coming on strong along with Victory we will see more of that. It would be nice to see dealerships like that which would hopefully have bigger inventories of parts and accessories along with techs that soley work on these motorcycles.

thats interesting, we have 4 dealers in a 100 mile radius here, tracy, san ramon/pleasanton,hollister and now san jose, and they all sell both vic and indian... there are many similar designs they share on the bike, and being that polaris benefits from having them together in the showrooms, i cant imagine dealers being as successfull without both... im inclined to believe if you come in looking at indian, and ride both you will ride off on a vic, but thats just my experience, and i dont have much with the indian...

Yes I think they would benifit being Polaris. I have heard good things about the Indian, just not my style so I went with a Victory.

The dealers around here do not sell just Victory, some sell Kawasaki / Spyders - another sells Indian / BMW / KTM / Ducatti and others with various combinations. So hopefully we'll see that kind of movement in my area.
