Default She's mad at me again!

Well, I did it again. Manage to make her mad at me again. Goes back to when I had my last accident, hunting 23' fall. Before that day the wife and I was very comfortable on a RSV (Yamaha Royal Star Venture). Then after the accident it was to heavy, and bought the Harley Heritage. Most of our friends had Harleys and we were the different duck. So when we bought one she bought Harley purse, and various stuff like the other ladies, and sorta stuck on that Harley thing. In the last 6 months I've been getting stronger, and a month ago wife and I sat on a black XCT, she said it was like the RSV and liked the room. She knows I love motorcycles, and have been doing alot of reading, so after 17 years a flag has had to come up in her mind.

Well today I put the sunset red XCT as a screen saver on the laptop, she said what is that, I said the new bike we are getting. Oh, boy, needless to say, she was not happy with me. But this is not my first rodeo, so I am used to making her mad once in a while, good for the marriage, lol. She said: "sometimes I think you make me mad on purpose", can you believe that. Anyways, the thought is put into place with her, and now just selling the Harley and a XC or XCT will be in my garage, either that or I will be living with one of you all. Man, I still have to tell her I have the Harley up For Sale. That will be a different day. Later-

P.S. sorry for the long length letter.

Just do what I did: Tell her you want a new Camaro. All of the sudden a new bike is not such a big deal!

Do what I would do and list the bike for sale. Then when you get a potential buyer just tell her that someone said that they were interested in the Harley and you thought you "might as well" show it to them. If they decide to buy it, it would give you a reason to pick up the XCT...

She will likely "see through" the ploy you don't have to answer "How are you going to sell the Harley" and then she may smile realizing that you've got everything covered and that you are wise enough to have not already bought the Victory and then try to sell the HD. Goot luck!

Tell her you want to look at the XCT for a second bike that you and her can take long trips on. Then tell her you want to keep the HD for around town rides. Once she figures out that sets you up for paying for / insuring two bikes she'll either tell you that you don't need a second bike or that you are going to have to sell your HD first.

Keep in mind that this logic will probably work better once you get her to go on a demo ride with you. As mentioned in another thread make sure the demo bike has air in the rear shock. It would be a lot harder getting her on your side if the bike rides rougher than the HD rather than much moother like it should.

Whenever I hear divorced guys giving us married sort a hard time, I have to give back...

You know why divorces are SO expensive, don't you? It's because they are WORTH IT!

If you want that XCT and can afford it get it. A woman always has something to say about something least the one I been married to for 39 year has. Sooner or later they will get over it. Just ride and enjoy it. If she want take to you, cook for you, wash your clothes, etc hell your a grown man do it yourself. I tell mine it just goes in one ear and out the other one the brain don't pick nothing up she says. Get it.

Hey all, thanks, yea we had two bikes for a long time. Seems if I wanted a bike and could not decide on which one I like the best, I would buy another, ride both for awhile, then sell the other. Always used the "well you have three horses" and I only have two, routine. But, we downsized due to loss of income from my accident and now are raising a Grandchild. Money is tight for the first time in many years, so two bikes and Insurance is more than I need to do. Gave up the third and fourth vehicle also. But, the one thing she knows about me is that when I decide to do something, I do it. So she is probably already expecting me to buy another bike other wise I wouldn't have had her sit on top of the XCT, and she has been thru this with me more than once. Oh well, it is fun to watch her get mad at me once in awhile. Heck, not to long after dating I told she is going to learn to hate me, she said she already does. Isn't Love grand. Have Fun, Later-
