Default Anyone else get a survey call?

A survey company called me a week ago wanting to see if I would be willing to take a survey. Normally, I decline those things SUPER FAST but this guy seemed to have knowledge of how long I had owned my Cross Country and appeared to have represented himself as having been hired by Victory (or so I thought). They wanted to know what I thought of it and if I would buy it again if I had the chance. Of course my answer was a resounding YES. Best decision in YEARS.

The guy didn't ask much more about my choice or why I liked it so much as he wanted to know what other bikes I had considered and seemed REALLY interested in my opinions of the BMW bikes (even though I had mentioned H-D, Triumph, Honda GW and others). He asked things like "Did you consider the BMW 1600..." What features of the BMW did you not like, etc. He did "buffer" the converstation by then asking about the GW but he never did ask about the Triumph's or the Yamaha and when he was attempting to wrap up the conversation, I asked him "What about my thoughts on the XC vs. it's #1 competitor, the Harley Street Glide?" His response was that "Harley was not on his list" so he had no place to put any of my comments about the comparison of those two bikes. I got the feeling at the end that this was not a Victory-sponsored survey (as he had stated up front) but rather was a "fishing expedition" for potential BMW riders (or perhaps simply BMW trying to understand why Victory was increasing their business so significantly while BMW continues to struggle winning market share).

One other note: The interviewer did not seem to be particularly knowledgeable with the Victory bikes or even biking alone for that matter. He seemed to know a LOT more about BMW bikes than any other brand.

Anyone else get a similar survey call?

Didn't get one of these calls, but it does seem odd.

Usually surveys they just ask you set questions, that they don't really analyze your responses. Sounds like what you're reporting is more of a conversation.

It'll be interesting to see if any others have got this too.

I got a call from a survey company about 9 months after I bought. I doubt the guy I talked would have been able to tell a motorcycle from a bicycle if he was sitting on both of them. Needless to say I was asked about other brands but since I had to spell out most of them I doubt he was trying to get me to move to one of them.

As a UK owner I have never been surveyed on my ownership experience in the year (11 months) I have owned the the 2011 vegas from new.

This does surprise me because they bang on about ownership satisfaction so much...

I am satisfied just for the record
