Default Headlight temp?

Anyone (preferably with an infrared thermometer) know how hot the bullet headlight gets? I want to add some accent lighting (around the edges of where the chrome metal housing meets the glass lens housing ) but am concerned about heat affecting the LEDs.

I can measure the temp for you later on today, but I have HIDs in my headlight, which run cooler than the OEM halogens, making my measurement useless to you - unless you have HIDs as well.

Please add your bike's year and model to your signature. Here's why.

The digital termo only reads the outside temperature of the headlight glass, which is a lot lower than what happens on the inside. So, I've measured the OEM 55 watt halogen bulb directly, and it went as high as 340F. My 35 watt HID bubls only climbed as high as 250F.

Hope this helps in your endeavor.
